He does have brutish chracteristics but that adds to the 'punisher to the infernal dammed'

Yeah i a crude imagination aswell at times.

going with the prisoner/guard thing, a set of shackles could flesh out and support the impression. They could be either on his wrists with the chains broken off or mabye hanging from the belt ready to be used on someone etc.

I got kind of a demonic brute vibe from him but more as a "oh crap our minions are getting beat, let's send in the big guy." in battle kind of role than that of a prison setting

Cool stuff, hombre. I like the spikes that you added. How are the chains connected to his back? Through the skin?

I'm going to anyway... I like the proportions.

This is indeed a very good idea, thought of something similar a while back, probably going to play around with it soon.

So I'm not dead! Just school, school, school. Have gotten some texture work done though, the loincloth is probably the one part that is closer to done than any other, but the cloth parts really don't need any more work in my opinion. The metal bits are what I haven't worked much on, so yeah. Just bare in mind it's a work in progress.

Oh and yes I am going to randomize the pattern of the spikes, no need to worry.

Nice! It looks very good, very... menacing. The spikes on this body look like they have outlines, but overall, really nice texture. Are you texturing in Z brush too?

i don't like how you have the spikes sitting on the skin. personally i think they should protrude from the skin.

Really not a fan on the spikes, but the texturing is coming out very nicely.

Replied.

Oh and people, I've actually gotten all of the process texturing this guy and was thinking about timelapsing it and making a tutorial or something out of it. Anything you'd be interested in or should I just scrap it?

Interested.

I love seeing other peoples work flow.

Even when i watch my own recordings it still looks alien, so it should be intresting to see anothers.

My god what is it with this thread and my typing skills, seems i keep missing words or saying the total opposite thing. Bah *drinks more tea*

Okay cool, there you people go, six bloody parts of actual tutorial which is silly but I wanted to kind of have the video being fast enough where it doesn't feel slow but at the same time I want you to be able to see what I'm doing.
They're all in 720p so you can watch them in fullscreen without that harsh ramifications, and do excuse the Swedish accent; I'm working on it.
Part 0: Introduction
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6

Remember to take all the things I say with a grain of salt, the stuff I'm doing really isn't advanced, because of the reason that I'm just plain not very good at this silly 3D stuff just yet, but I'm just spreading information along.

Finally got back to actually working on this thing, did a quick bake of the diffuse and normal in XNormal and these are the results. Not perfect albeit but I think it's good for an initial pass, just need to fix up some seaming errors and some general artifacts, and add noise and such to some parts of the normal map.
These screens were just taken in Maya with a fugly light setup, that odd part on the left arm in the first screenshot by the bicep is just actually two lights kind of crossing paths, it looks fine if I render it but my viewport doesn't like it apparently. It's no normal map issue or anything.

No problem man.
Update on the model I suppose, been tweaking the normal map and all the weird artifacts are most certainly gone. Some more additions need to be made though like specular maps for some parts and additions to the normal map.
