Hello. Me and my father have been looking for a FPS creator for a long time, and this one appears to fit are exact needs. I would just like to clarify some things before I order it though. First off, we have real slow and limited internet, but it appears that we can order this and it arrives in disc form in the mail. Me and my father also have very, very limited coding experience, and 3D modelling is way beyond us, but we don't need to know any of that either? Also, a question on the packs, when we order those do those come in the mail also? It all just looks to good to be true honestly.

The actual FPSC comes as a download AND as a disc. THe packs are only as a download.

It comes with stock media, so you can, but I do reccommend buying some new media.

And while you don't need to code, learning to script will greatly enhance your experiance.

Can we sell finished products? I understand each level has a size limitation, but can we connect levels to make a coherent game?

Hi Visarion

Welcome to you and your father on these forums!

FPS Creator is not only perfect for your needs but also a powerful game engine ideal for beginners looking to have some fun and developers making serious games.

This software is the best value for money you can get and you will be amazed at what can be achieved with no coding experience or modelling skills at all.

One of the best things about FPSC is that after having a lot of fun you will naturally become interested in making your own content and its surprising how much you can learn about scripting and modelling in that way.

You will love this software and the people on these forums are generally very helpful.

You can sell finished games and you can connect up to 50 levels. Also you don't have to pay TGC any money for your game if you decide to sell it.

So far we're doing good. It says it is multiplayer compatible, can I get details on the multiplayer portion?

I can only echo what Nomad Soul has stated. Both my wife and I love this software. Although the default media is a good start, you will find that there are many talented people that contribute various models, scripts, etc for us developers. On top of the packs, there are talented people that create mods for FPSC, which enhance the game as you learn and grow more experienced.

When you order packs, most of them are electronic download. Same with other packs you might buy for FPSC.

Any questions you might have, feel free to send an e-mail or post here and we'll help you out.

Welcome to the community.

Cheers

Mike

Also, we see that there is a special sale going on. The whole program and 9 model packs for $30. About how large is a model pack. A couple Megs?

If we buy the product at the sale, can we wait to download the packs we get with it. We live out in the middle of nowhere, but when we go into town we can get fast enough internet to download the packs.

Visarion,

Welcome to the forum. I should tell you that Nomad Soul and BlackFox work for TGC.

Just kidding.

I bought FPS Creator over four years ago. I was, as you are now, very excited about what I saw and read about the product. I still play around with it almost daily and it's the best fun for the money I've ever spent.

Besides the official model packs, you will find tons of free user-created content here, in both individual pieces and packs. All you have to worry about is the additional cost of the upgraded internet connection you're going to buy, once you get started and see all the great stuff you can get.

Look at the official FPS Creator home page. On the top you will see some user-created, in-game screen shots. This is what you can expect to make with FPS Creator and the content available here. It won't make the next AAA title, but with a little work it'll make a great game.

Happy game making.

Brian.

This all looks great. My father and I have decided to purchase the Bonanza Package tomorrow. But it's been going on since May, are there any copies even left?
And we really would like a phone number to contact them, but they don't seem to have a Contact Us page. Thanks

Thats ok for just FPSC as you can get it on a CD as well as a electronic download.

Take a look on the TGC Homepage, Im not sure they do have one though. All I know is that lee will support you if you email him. [email protected] (Correct me if im wrong, I just typed that from the top of my head)

FPSC does have a source of coding that takes a few weeks to get the hang of. Its called FPI and is a basic Action to Condition type script. If you get FPI Editpad that is on the scrips forum then you will get a list of all commands including FPI structure templates. Also take a look at the Stock(FPSC Default) scripts

Some more infomation :

There are several mods that allow more scripting commands. People dont normal go for the X10 version (Directx10 only) because its limited to Vista and Windows 7 or EFX mod for X9 cause they dont provide compatibility. Installing mods are pretty simple. In your FPS Creator directory you will find a exe called FPS-Game.exe. You need to rename this (Just put a 1 at the end) so incase you want the normal FPSC back you can just rename it. Place the new EXE to replace the FPSC-Game.exe. If there are any scripts then you need to place them in the Files\Scriptbank folder

You can download tons of free media at :

FPS-Files
FPS Free

To install media :

You will find a Files folder in your FPS Creator folder. If the pack includes all the folders (EG : entitybank, segments) then just drop them in the Files folder.
If it has no folders then its normally for the entitybank so create a new folder in your entitybank that yo will recognise and just drop them in there

Hope all this info helps ^^

Windows 7, Amd Athlon 7750 Black Editon (64 bit,3ghz + Dual Core), ATI Readon HD 4870 1gb Edition, 4gb Ram.

The packs will appear in your order history (go to profile at the top of this or any page on the forum to access your profile and order history). From your order history you can download/redownload the model packs at your convenience. When I was still using dial-up I regularly went to friend's houses to use their high-speed internet to get my packs.

Welcome to the forums.

Just a quick reminder, you'll probably need to download the latest version (v1.16 or possibly v1.17 by the time you receive your copy) after you've installed the basic package.

which is here http://www.fpscreator.com/downloads.html

Welcome to the forums!

Also, I would highly recommend a mod for better results! Here is a good link here: http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=165358&b=21

Oh, and don't forget to check out the guide for FPSC. It's located in the "Docs" folder in the FPSC directory.

Have fun!

This is my own personal and humble opinion; but, I don't think a beginner should start using any modified engine right away.
