If you could wish for one "beyond the odds of FPSC" script/feature/graphic/etc. (So stuff posting in the Feature Suggestion board would be useless for) what would it be?

I'm pretty sure swimming isn't "Beyond the odds" so I would have to go with a portal gun

A setting to invert the game colors when the player steps into a trigger zone, fading back to normal when the they leave it.

Same as le shorte. Add onto that, the ability to change the levels and requirements.

My wish? Hmm...I haven't clue, maybe character unit ordering (like Brother In Arms where you can command units where to go). That'd be awesome .

literaly "perfect" performance on any computer. that means all games will run at 38 fps at any time on any comp and build all 50 levels at maximum size with incredible detaail and hundreds of dynamic entities with no errors ever.

that's "perfect" performance.

It's also incredibly unrealistic. There will always be a system that is below requirements, always someone who runs things at a lower level.

My wish, would be to have things run stable, with little to no bugs.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

I wish FPSC came with pre-recorded messages from Tanya that told us what an AWESOME job we were doing whenever we ran a test level.

Other than that, I'd take stability above all - even if it was at less than perfect performance - so that I would know the limits and actually complete a game without killing the engine.

Oh yeah.... and world peace.

Less WIP threads that turn out to be "praise me for my magnificent screenshots. I know I can't build without error and even if I could, my game still would never look like my screens -but praise me anyway" lies.

Multiplayer Co-op against bots would be awesome! I don't know if it's over the top enough, but that would be the best.

Good framerate no matter how much stuff there is on the screen would be awesome. AI Director would be awesome too! There's too much stuff! But I must go with the bots (I hope genie hears this. C'mon I accept you even if you were Kazaam! Just not much "rapping")

I won't be recording, but 300 enemies in fenix mode runs at around 21 FPS, and theyt all have passive.fpi, no gun. 300000 polys runs at 40 FPS, and then I can even go double that without lag at all.

Guys, wishes are wishes. They can be unrealistic.

How about a highly trained group of HELP BOTS which will send requests made by users to a Thegamecreators team to make working and high quality scripts/graphics for free, legally, and extremely fast?

Anyhow, good wishes lol.

This could be achieved easily by scripting and using scancodekeypressed=X command, telling FPSC to pause the game whenever user press TAB

Better control over the lightmapper in regards to how the lightmaps are set out, more akin to the way gile[s] does it along with exclusion (i.e. stuff you want to receive no shadows etc) to prevent the unsightly poly outlining and seem highlighting (or at least lessen the effect).

Your signature has been erased by a mod. The sig needs to be 600 width maximum (x 120 height) for all of it.

A lot of my wishes already appear to be making it into the migration.

But

Better performance/High Frame rate. A level doesn't need to handle 300+ characters as even high end games don't have more than 40-50 on screen at once but it would be nice to see 20 or so in FPSC, especially now we are getting allies, the number of active characters is becoming more important.

And this may sound like 2 wishes but they are connected I promise, much improved culling of polygons, this would go a long way to improving FPSC.

omg that is such a good wish lol. As lame as RPGmaker is, I did have it figured out within minutes. (The script/event buttons that is)

To take that a step further, I wish you could edit an entity's script in the game engine, like RPGmaker games or GameMaker. That way you wouldnt have to close FPSC out, open the fpi editor, write something, open FPSC back up, and test.

That's acturly impossible as even some of the best engines compile with errors sometimes. Happens all the time with me >:C

Anyway, my wish :

To be able to draw using BSP's (Custom wall drawing) instead of using a segment placement system

Without stability and optimizations, feature requests seem almost worthless because they would only drag FPSC even further down.

So, I suppose I would wish for stability and optimizations.
