Until your model/media is fully FPSC compatible, you cannot post it in the FPSC Models and Media section of the forum. You have to post it in 3D Chat.

Post in 3dimensional chat..
C:
1.- Make only one file for texture (Power of 2 ex:512x512)
2.- Apply a cylindrical uv (just a recomendation use dds format - in google you can find many image conversor-)

and practice, practice, practice don`t surrender..

Take care friend..

Alright advent, I have a video tutorial that will help you ALOT it's about next-gen weapon creation, and that weapon happens to be a knife. It's in 3ds max, but you can easily translate all of the techniques into blender

http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-3ds-max/next-gen-weapon-creation-day-1-the-high-poly-model/

It's a four - day tutorial. Goes through full creation. And there are many other awesome tutorials on tha site

Nice but the uv map is stretching at the sides; The model is also a bit of a carboard cut out but seeing as it's your first finished model that's nothing to worry about just yet.

I made a video of me modeling a bayonet not to long ago, Don't know if it will help you http://www.youtube.com/user/mike5424#p/u/0/48din2-PBsk

@advent7011
Sometimes theres no excuse

On topic

As for the weapon, Well i suggest searching the extensive tutorials lists accross the interent and keep practising. The grip texture could do with some work and the blade with it. I suggest painting over actual reference images, untill you get the hang of painting your textures yourself.

lol @ laz

You should probably change the model to be pointed at one end of the knife, will give it a feel that it could hurt you and is not made of foam.
