Are you taking suggestions? Or do you have all 100 planned out? Heh, heh.

I bet you don't make any crates....

great texture, my only crit is that you didn't lift the middle up on the bottom of the car. you could have added 4-6 polygons and done it easily(i only say it because it looks like tank tracks)

Rich Dersheimer: Yah I'll take requests, will be more help then anything. Coming up with 100 different unique models is harder then it sounds....trust me, I've done this before.

BMac: Thanks, need anything for fields that's 100 polys or less?

Azunaki: There's an alpha channel. If you set transparency in DB then the black is gone. TS doesn't like .png alpha's so that's why you can see the black.

..and yes..NO CRATES!!

Hmm, I was going to suggest more vehicles, but I think I'm going to take those above 100 polies and use physics and stuff with them, plus the cartoony style doesn't fit.

Perhaps item pickups? Different generic weapons (a rifle, a pistol, a shotgun, rocket launcher, SMG), and resources (a log, a board, a rock, different-colored metal ores and bars).

I'm not doing just 'cartoon' style models, this just fit the car model better I think.

Looking into making a few more cars, then off to a different object.

Here's part one of creating the mustang. Not sure why the quality went so crappy after uploading to youtube, never really used it before, will look into it. Thinking of starting a video thread for everyone to upload too, if there is some interests.

Low Poly Mustang Part 1
Low Poly Mustang Part 2

note: mediafire is down, will update the download when it's back up.

Video quality is fine Josh, maybe you checked the video too soon??
As it takes a little time for youtube to complete processing and the first draft you watch after upload is the pre-processed version.
This tends to be blocking looking and has a little note above the video indicating that it is being processed etc.

The charger is awesome. 100 polys is a bit low, but I guess that makes it educational.

Ah, quality is much better now. Part 3, where I show myself painting the model, video was corrupted...so I'll have to redo it all. I'll do that when I have the chance.

Download for the second model is updated. Mediafire is back up.

Thanks for the comments. Now on to day 3!

Josh im not gonna lie, its not magnificant, but for 56 polys yes it is. Its just, most games arent going to make it anywhere nowadays with this kind of graphics.

But still nostalgia of unreal 1 and quake 2 are coming home

But still inspiring, and i guess it would be good for handheld graphics.

personal challenges they may be , but my statement is still valid.

Practicing for the special olympics when your not special doesnt help you when trying to go to the regular olympics.

You will be far behind.
thats all im saying
(josh i mean this in the nicest way you could take it, you have skill, start pushing the throttle forward on your potential meter)

Well, you're assuming that that's his goal. I could be wrong but that's not the impression I get from him and his work. I don't think the Moon-man is out to land a professional job out of all this, more for fun and a bit of work on the side here and there.

I'm a pure hobbyist with a good career that I have no intention of leaving. personally I prefer a more realism focused style but if the ultra-lowpoly, hand painted style was my thing it wouldn't matter if it didn't match up to industry standards, I'd do it because that's what I'd like. you know?

Actually MMOJ, I can see how this is an excellent exercise to practice speed modeling and texture creativity, as well as making a good looking model with as little as possible. At this rate, when he goes to try making higher poly, more detailed pieces, they will be far more rich in content with fewer necessary polys.

@ Ortu: Alright valid point, i was assuming.

@ Mooney : Are you just doing this as a hobby?

@ Pbcrazy : im sorry i have to disagree. Practicing in lower quality models does not mean that the person will be good at keeping only necessary polys on the high poly.

The only thing i can agree at all on is texture creativity. Because that is hand made (or at least it looks like it) it does take some extra work and that is good practice.

no, but doing lower "quality" models, means he gets better at pumping out higher with a lower polygon limit.
so to speak.

Lol! If you've read at least the first post you would know that TS does not like alpha channels in png files, so they show up black. Setting the transparency in DBP will get rid of the black.

Chainsaw sounds doable.

after your chainsaw you should do a mossberg 500
and seeing as you did that tommy gun with 86 polygons try for no more than that even though it does have a cylindrical pump
