He? - Mojang is a game development company now, and Notch isn't even the only one adding these new features. When you take the money you made with a Beta, and start a company, then still produce buggy products, well what does that say about Notch?
You can't play at game companies like that - this week he's announce different versions of Minecraft for mobile devices and the 360, and then there's their trading card game, his visit to the Playboy mansion... We supported Mojang by buying Minecraft Beta, in the hope that our support would lead to an improved product. We aren't desperate for pistons and wolves and maps, we are desperate for a stable product that we can play without it bombing out for no good reason. We didn't pay for the 360 version, we paid for (hopefully) a stable PC version. It's getting more like Minecraft is a chore for Notch, I wish he'd just finished it around v1.4, and let the mod community add the features that seem to take Mojang 3 times as long to get working properly. It breaks down like this.... Fans ask for a new feature, Notch says it's impossible, user mod proves Notch wrong, Notch incorporates the mod. Minecraft doesn't really need any new features for now, it needs to be finished and handed over to the mod community, who will always be adding the features MC fans demand. I'd like to see Mojang concentrate on bug squishing and stability - there will be plenty time for neat new features later.
The quicker Mojang can sort out modding, the quicker it can be standardised, and the easier it'll be to get these new features, mix them up, let people mod Minecraft properly and we won't need Mojang to spend a month adding pistons and god knows what other crud that 1/20th of Minecraft players will not even notice.
Don't get me wrong, I like Mojang and Notch, love Minecraft - I just get sick of checking it after every update, only to have the same or similar issues disrupt my game - then when I check the blog, it's full of all the cool stuff Notch is doing instead.
