Zeus, I am impressed! I can't wait for a demo!

Is this the project you told me you were working on a couple of months ago when I asked you questions on GUI?

Speaking of GUI, I agree that it needs a little sprucing up...but if I were I you I wouldn't worry about it now, I'd worry about getting the game mechanics working first. How are you doing the GUI though? Sprites? Images?

Loving the collision so far. You should map the map bigger for more challenge.

@CC: Thank you very much. This is the very game I was telling you about. I have Happy Cheesecake working on the new HUD and I am implementing some stuff myself to make it look better as well.

@C0wbox: Honestly, you have no idea how much it means to hear that from you C0wbox. No sarcasm, seriously. Thank you.

@Eminent: Thanks. The maps will be much larger in the actual game. This is just for testing purposes.

Important News

Since purchasing, selecting, rotating, discharging, and healing an ally unit is almost complete it is time for something the team needs most, a dedicated volunteer BETA tester. Anyone who is willing to receive early copies of the game to test for bugs will be greatly appreciated. All you need to do, is send an email to jordangibson96@gmail.com for more information on BETA testing American Warfare.

Can I join the team? While I must admit I don't do many sounds anymore, I was never too good, I can think of any story, conversations, etc that you want. While I was desperate during my sound making phase I do take pride in my writing.

Let me think of what you can do....

Can you beta test?
Can you come up with in game missions?
Can you come up with features for the game?

You can do any of those three or even all three if you like. Just tell me exactly what you can do and consider yourself on the team.

Current Bug Fixes (12/19/2010 10:44 AM)

A lot of the bugs that were really bothersome have been fixed and a new feature was added as well! You may now sell items you purchase, but only get half of what you paid for it (this will add more of a challenge to the game). Below are the current bugs that have been fixed.

Here is what currently needs fixed.

Selling units has been completed, the work has now begun on moving (relocating) a unit. Before I actually implement this into the game, I am going to make a simple pathfinding demo so I can get a basic idea of how I can work this. So wish me luck and expect a video of moving a unit pretty soon!

Still making a pathfinding example with Dark AI, with little luck. Looked at the examples, but can't seem to get it to work with my own code. Christmas break has begun, I will have a lot of time to work on this project thankfully. Also, I am getting a new laptop for Christmas! I may not get a lot of work done from this day to the 26th of December, but I will try to get some done. I am having a lot of family coming in for Christmas, but this project is still going on so don't worry. I will try to get pathfinding working today, more than likely by posting a topic on the DBP boards...

Development Update (12/21/10)

The pathfinding demo was completed by me, with only the help of the Dark AI demo (no copy and paste lol). I am going to make some additions to it, add the unit object in it, and then implement into the game itself hopefully getting it all done today. I posted the simple pathfinding code (fully commented) below.

Oh man, looking better and better. Its funny the fpsc models in there! Looking good though, and great use of those models! Sure beats buying, new or creating more.

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more!

Got a little more done today with my pathfinding demo. Almost ready to implement solider models into it. After that, I will put the basic code into the game and work with it. Wont get much time to work on it tomorrow or the 24th however. I will be completely free on Christmas day to work on it due to Mom having to work.

Transferring all of the old game files from my previous laptop to my new M17x. Once I get all of my DLLs and stuff back, work will continue on the game once again.

Dark AI has 2 modes, manual and automatic. In manual you get more control over how the AI acts.

Oh. Well, I will look into that.

--Update--

Due to some errors with the game's core engine, it is getting a makeover. The new engine is being coded with samples before implemented into the actual game. A lot of change will be taking place in the game, I will post updates on the way.

The new engine is going quite smoothly, it is at no means ready for any screenshots yet, but basic unit creation is complete. I am working on unit options now. Below I have posted a list of new features to expect in American Warfare.

More will be added, this is just basic stuff.
