Dark GDK / Is Directx SDK version important?

Hi all,

DarkGdk require August 2007 directx-9 sdk. If I install the newest directx-11 sdk jun 2010, will I encounter any problem?

I'm still using vc++ 2008 and dx9 but I have come across in the forums various updates that make other versions of vc and dx work together.

Hi WLGfx, so you mean that I can still install directx-11 sdk jun 2010 for runing darkgdk?

Normally, it does. so if you dont want to encounter any kind of problems youd better stick to the one they say will work. there are some other threads that have other versions working.

The official release of Dark GDK is compiled for the August 2007 SDK and won't work with another SDK without changes. If you want to use the June 2010 version then use the recompiled libraries that N3wton published here:

Thank you, WLGfx, Cetobasilius and Mireben.

One more question: Could I install both directx sdk on 1 pc without conflict? Can I select which sdk to compile? Would you recommend just install one sdk only?
(I asked this because the newest game use the updated directx, but darkgdk use older directx sdk)
