G'day to all my mates out here in the community!
Hope you are all having a fine day.
The title may seem familiar to you.
In fact, if you were around 6 months ago, it probably should.

Welcome to the resurrection of Coach Shogun 20's screenshot competitions!
I decided there wasn't a friendly competitive scene here anymore that would regularly take place, so I decided I would remake the Screenshot Compo. Ill host these from here on(unless I am contacted by either a mod, or Coach Shogun to cease doing so)
So, without further ado, lets get this show rolling!

___________________________________________________________________

The theme for this months competition has plenty of room for creativity, and imagination. If that didn't already give it away, this months theme is Science Fiction.
Anything within these bounds, be it on a foreign planet, the halls of a space-station, or even just a ships cargo hold. There is, however, one catch to this. You must clearly display ATLEAST one stock model.

Entires for this competition will close on the 28th of January, giving you two weeks.
(all future competitions will have a time frame of two weeks)
--

[Rules]
1. You may enter any image you want, as long as it pertains to the theme. That means you can create this with either [X9], or [X10]
2. You may only enter one image. If you want to make this change, you need to make a new post with your new image and explain what you changed
3. Do not flame other entrants screen shots. If you are competing against others, and any form of flame is said towards another competitor, your entry into this competition will be void.
4. You may use any form of mod or shader. There will be no restrictions, no handicaps, or anything of that nature implied. Use mods/shaders to your hearts content.
5. No image manipulation may be used. NONE. Not even to roughen up edges or fade off bloom. Post your image as you take it.

[Judge Only Rules]
1. You can not hint or personally tell anyone your opinion on your favorite image. An exception to tell the host at time of judgement.
2. You may enter an image, but it may not win in any way.

[Competition Specific Rules]
1. At least ONE stock model MUST be shown for a valid entry.
2. If you are a prize donor, and your entry wins, you will receive all prizes but your own.

If anyone has any problems with these rules, just throw an email my way.

--

Whats a competition without a prize?
[PRIZES]
There will always be two winners in this competition. One picked by a specified judge, and another by the host (me)
Each pick will usually have separate prizes, providing there are enough prizes to go around.
For this competition, prizes are...

Host Pick:
TiTaniUm's Grunge segment pack
Three unique custom segments/textures (complete with D/I/N/S maps) made to your liking courtesy of TiTaniUm
Anayar's massive Overlay Pack courtest of Anayar
Two weapons, (one custom and one original) courtesy of Cross Hair Games

Judge's Pick:
TiTaniUm's Grunge Segment pack
Two rigged weapons (excluding projectiles/flak) courtesy of Abdul Ahad
Two unique custom segments made to your liking courtesy of TiTaniUm
Two weapons (one custom, and one original) courtesy of Cross Hair Games
Pick the next theme

If you would like to donate a prize, for either this competition, or a future competition, send me an email at the address above, or find it attached to the end of this post. Donations are highly appreciated, and will only be given to the select winner.

The following is what your final screens will be judged on.
1. Contains the required stock element at a suitable visibility.
2. Stays within the original contest theme of SciFi
3. General look/feel of the atmosphere
4. Lighting
Your screens will NOT be judged if they do not contain the stock element, or portray to the theme of this competition.

Quick Summary
Theme: Science Fiction
Entries Close:
27th January 2011 (Judging Finalized by the 28th)
_________________________________________________________________

Ok, thats all I think.
Hopefully, this will turn out pretty good, and we can continue this event for as long as we can keep it standing!
I hope to see a few entrants, and even some screens soon!

Remember, if you need to contact me about anything, just send an email to
and I'll be more than happy to reply. If you would also like to donate a prize for future competitions, just let me know there. A reminder that prizes will only be given to the rightful winner.

I wish you all good luck, and hope to see some amazing screens coming from you over the next few days!

Glad to see some entries already!
@DarkJames; I chose SciFi because with this, there is always unlimited room for creativity. I know this generally only applies to storyline, but hey, what the hell. Also, Comp15 was originally intended to be 'Urban Conflicts' - I did my research on the last few!

@DarkFragger; Judging requirements, basically are just the Judging rules.
Quote: "[Judge Only Rules]
1. You can not hint or personally tell anyone your opinion on your favorite image. An exception to tell the host at time of judgement.
2. You may enter an image, but it may not win in any way."

So when everyone has entered, and its getting close to the 28th, just start thinking about whose image you like best (although it will probably happen way before then)
When you are ready and have picked it, let me know, then post in the thread, and we can distribute the prizes.

To everyone who has entered, all of your screens look great! Ill update the main post with the new judge and put in your names as entrants.
I'd like to thank all of you for bringing this competition back to life. Hopefully it will bring back that friendly competitive spirit.

This looks fun, I remember doing these
(what happened to coach shogun and darimc?)

Anyways, I whipped up an entry right quick. I had a shopped version when I saw the rule up top just now, so I'll post the original.
(kinda lost the effect I wanted it to have)

Best of luck to everyone!

Two more great entries to add to the list!
Thanks for the entries guys, your names are now on the list.

Just a few sidenotes here to add;
If I am away for whatever reason, and come back to see more entries, I will only put up valid entries. This means that they must contain the stock element, and can't be edited.

Also, the winner of the Host's pick has a very high chance of picking the next theme, so all of you should be thinking up some ideas now

I only put what I had available, Of course I am respecting the other competitions. I've already contacted many others on prizes.
Im doing what I can.

If you're concerned that the prizes arent good enough, you are here for the wrong reason.
this competition was not recreated to give out prizes. That is just one of the prospects of entering.

Now that thats said,
Nice entry, I really like it. Good job.

okay, now i need some serious help. to give a good effect on my pic, i changed all the entities' shaders to the ps2 shaders instead of the defaults. this worked, but they weren't casting shadows. then I found out it was because they were all dynamic (I thought this would help the shader performance.). so i changed them all to static and reposition a pillar to the side a little bit just to get a good angle. now the test runs faster and smoother than it did last time, but with it, I get this:

Pic attached. PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, now it works. Turns out I didn't need to change the shaders at all! They work just fine by default. So here is the fixed version. I added a few entities to spice up the look and also some decals to give a life-like particle system. Shadows don't seem to appear, but that's either the heavier lighting, or the new shaders.
Anyways, here's the fix to my entry:

Valid entries just need to show atleast ONE piece of stock clearly.
The whole thing can be custom media, with a stock barrel, or chair, for example, or it can be entirely stock.
As long as atleast one piece is shown.

@PWP;
Ill add your name on the list, as soon as you show some stock in there.

EDIT
Sorry Jazzist, I missed yours.
Your screen is fine, as there are segments, doors, and even the corpse all from stock, so ill add it to the list now

It's a stock mesh actually, the segments are stock retextured and the slanted wall on the very left is a stock mesh In the very back there were a few stock barrels (no retexture, pure stock) but it turned out to be so dark you couldn't see it. If you want, I can redo it a little if you are indeed picky lol

@everyone else, thanks, but don't lose hope! D: If you think it's so good, then you should try your best to beat me! That should be your motivation - good motivation too.

In a game competition, That would most likely be fine PWP, but, sorry it has to be different in this compo.
As long as we can clearly see the stock entity, or segment (no retexture) it will be a valid entry. and a magnificent one at that.
