Just wondering, what year do you estimate it's completion?

Its a massive undertaking for one man. I estimate it will be completed in 7 years, unless of course DOSP gets more active programmers. I'm currently developing the Engine's GUI System which Applications and Games will use.

Nope. It will be absolutely FREE to use.

There are volunteers and several TGC Members have made contributions with Libraries for Physics, Networking, and others. However, I'm currently the only active developer working on the Framework. Its simply a lot of work for one person to coordinate the project, lead the design and development of the framework, write documentation, and manage the web apps. It would be nice to have full-time dedicated developers but, that cannot be be expected in this environment. Its just the nature of the beast.

I just saw this video and thought of this thread.

This guy has managed to make a retro 3D ray-casting engine in LBP2. Remember this is a game, not a programming language! It's pretty darn impressive.

Super 3D Game Platform Architecture (Click for Full View)

Hi, Gibba gobba, the above high-level drawing visually illustrates a small chunk of the systems required for a Non-Coders' Game Designer (Editing/Utility Applications), I'm developing. Believe it or not, I reduce a majority of the work thru consolidating many of the systems.
