Hello, my name is josh. In this tutorial i will be showing you how to use and edit Water in Fps creator X9.

Downloading and adding the water
Download the files from this link:

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=176933&b=21

Once you download the files, open them using Winrar or any other program that can open these files. Now just extract each file appropriately. As in extract the files inside entities into your entities folder. If your having trouble with this i will have a video soon!

Now that you have extracted the files into fps creator, open up the fps creator editor and go into your entities. You should now see this:

Add this anywhere into your level, you will not be able to see it. Now just add some basic ground to your level and run it, you should now see something like this:

Editing the water
To edit what color the water is, or how high the water is you need to open the files and edit them of course. To do this, go to this directory:
"\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\scriptbank\waterscripts\"
Open up which ever water type you want to edit, and it should look a little something like this:

Now to edit the water height, just mess around with this:
waterheight=X

To edit the color of the water is very easy to:
waterblue=X,watergreen=X,waterred=X

i hope this helps a lot of people, and im sorry if this is the wrong section to be posting a tutorial, but yea...

The images are not showing up on my computer, are they showing up on yours? You can right click the box, and click open image in new tab and that seems to work

You can still see the pictures by doing what i said in my comment, but thanks! I could have done it more detailed for those who are really not good at FPSC, but i was in a hurry...

@Exu Corporations - I still don't see the need for the download when you can achieve this will a simple trigger anywhere in the level with the water.fpi script attached...? You can also then edit the .fpi exactly how you put it to achieve the desired effect!

The title is of the thread is a little misleading.
There is so much more you can do to edit the water than simply changing the height and colour.
You can change the normal map used for surface and by editing many of the parameters in the shader itself get some nice results.
Read up it a little more and add to what you have here so your tutorial lives up to the title. What you have so far doesn't add much to the thread you link to.

What comment?
There are no images, there are not even url's for images that I can see in your OP.

Alright well if you read the comments, i wrote this in a hurry just because i wanted to post it to help some people out, that's why i didn't put a lot of detail into. And i don't know why my images didn't show up, i will try to figure out why this happened soon. As for Sting, i kind of made this because what if someone didn't know how to do that? Or didn't have the water.fpi... You have to remember that a lot of people might not understand this program as well as you do. I just made this just in case someone wanted water in their game and they needed some instructions.

I didn't mean it as a criticism Exu Corporations. I think threads like this are appreciated, even by us that understand how it works because it helps others out, I was merely pointing out like rolfy, if you intend to do a tutorial ensure you cover as much of the topic as possible, it helps clear up confusion in the future.

Best of luck!
