Today, I saw on my DarkBASIC Pro IDE that you could see a bunch of expansion packs you've bought. I saw Advanced Terrain on there, and I'm just wondering if anyone could give me a tutorial on creating terrains?

I think I saw one of them ages ago, but that tutorial was for DarkGDK. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me

Hello, I use Advanced Terrain in my Code.

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&b=1&t=188775&p=2

If you scroll down to my post, you can get the latest source code complete with shader for the water. Its slow, and its not optimized, but I commented it to show what each area is for and what it does. Advanced Terrain is actually pretty easy to grasp once you understand what your looking for.

You can play with my code and see different things. I tried to separate sections of the code so that it can be somewhat easier to follow.

If you have any further questions, please ask away.

EDIT : The download button will be on the far right side of the post. Your looking for this file : ActiveTerrain-9-16-2011a.zip

I also forgot to mention, make sure you have installed the Matrix1 Plugins. I use those a lot in my code, not to mention, this is where a lot of the nice Advanced Terrain functions come from.

The free Matrix1 Plugins

Also, if you want the fog to work right, do not get the u7.2 or higher. Stick with 6.1 to 7.1. The newer versions of DarkBasic Pro has a bug in it that prevents the FOG from working correctly.

This is the version I am using with the Matrix1 plugins DBPro 7.1 and later version and it works just fine :

I appreciate the love. Keep in mind too, I could not have made that program without the help of a few people on this forum. They know who they are.
