After a few request I thought opening a forum post for all to see and request media for FPSC. So let me lay it out for you on requesting media.

Request need to be as follows:

1) Description: A good description of the model by pic or something similar. This would be all models like weapons, characters, segments, items and so on.
Saying it's a model that looks like something you saw last week by your trash can is not a description as I don't live at your house.

2) Animations: Will it be animated and how does it need to work? These are question that go hand in hand with a good description.

3) Textures: What kind of texture will it need for your game. Meaning dos it need grunge, blood or a clean texture.

4) Time: How long before you need it? Please remember I am only one person, so I may need to get one of the other artist to help you if time is an issue.

5) Scripting: This is an important one, as I do not do my own scripting all the time. So having one made to fit your models needs can be done, but may not be done by me. I have Ched do most of my scripts and if I have to use him for your scripts it will cost you.

6) Commercial or Non-Commercial: If you want to sell a model made by me for you you will have to buy it from me. This doesn't always apply to a simple model, but it will for a complex model. If you want to give it away after you buy it from me or give away a free model made for you, I will allow that.
If you want to do a trade for a model instead of money, you will still be able sell it. As I had agreed to take the trade. The model would be your to do as you please.
Now if I make a model and the decision is that I sell it in the store to make up for the work I did on that model, then you no longer have the rights to that model. Which means you cannot give it away or sell it. Each model will vary according demand and complexity.

7) Prices: Due to the fact that I cannot always give away my models all the time. I do sometimes have to charge for the work I do. Don't worry I will not break the bank. Prices will go as follows:
(1) Simple models like a crate or barrel-w/wo textures, no animations -- Free
(2) Moderate models like a boat, segment, food, etc- w/wo textures, w/wo animations -- Free to $10 (again will be base on the model)
(3) Complex models like weapons and characters-w/wo textures and animations -- Free to $20 (again based on the model)

8) Participation: If you request a model and do not particpate in the production of that model, then that model will either not be created or it will be completed and sold in the store.
Particpation means that the requester acknowledges the wip screenies and download. This will allow me to understand the importance of the model. If the requester shows no interest in the model to be created or even to comment they have receive the model after the download, then future model requests from that particular requester(s) will be ignored.


If you can handle all of that, then I look forward to your request and comments.

I will be using this post as to update you on things I am working on for both the TGC store and for models requested. Also if there is a model pack of mine that you might have missed that you would like to have, you can check my website for the pack. The site is is updating so bare with me.


Now for what I have been doing for the store. Some of you have already seen the new traffic lights I have recently added to the store, but for those that haven't, here they are again.

I have added two more models to the store, but they are still waiting for approval. These vents are animated. One to simulate air coming through it and the other uses Bond's animated shader to blink lights on and off.

Currently I am working on updating some of my old models and pack. Sometime ago I made a floating brain. Many of you don't remember it, so I made before and afer pic to show how I have improved it. The new brain will be going into the store after the first of the year, but I still have somethings to fix and add. One of which is a better weapon effect and more animations. But for now enjoy the preview. I have added ragdoll which is better than the death animation, but it has one for those that feel the ragdoll is to real. This guy will come with two different textures, one pink and one gray. Both work great with Bond's Viral shaders textures will be included for the effect that I wanted. I had to distort the mesh a bit to get rid of the realism. My wife felt it was to real for kids to blow up and also might cause some to be sick.

Now I have been working on some new hands for new weapon for the brain. Why does a brain need hands, well they don't but the player will. The plasma that the brain uses as a weapon will be able to be used by the player. So I needed my own hands in which I could make the new weapon. What I have planned for this weapon will be great. I can't show you the whole thing right now, but I can show you the new arm.




I hope this new post gets your ideas flowing in. Now I have had to pass on a few request like people asking for my aliens pack and work in x10. I use x9 so keep that in mind. If someone wants a model for x10 it will need to be done by someone with x10. Sorry for the inconvience.
Everything else is fair game including converting models for UDK and Unity. Keep in mind when requesting for media if you do not have a model pack don't ask me to convert it. Make sure I can verify you own the pack, but also bear in mind I cannot always make it convert in the way it is in FPSC. Somethings like Model Pack 9&10 have to many bones for UDK and will need to be re-animated to work. That is based on my latest test.

Can you make objects for DBPro? .X basically... I was looking for a futuristic vehicle floating type... but nevermind a nice ball with textures and relief mapping and the rest would be nice...

actually A WORLD MAPPED GLOBE WITH RELIEF MAPPING AND BUMP MAPPING!!!

I intend use it for free apps which will be tests so... guess getting the map will be a trick in itself...

It is. Model was made in blender and sculpted in zbrush for the ao and normals, brought back into blender for beauty test shot with sss on using only the ao and normal maps from the high poly sculpt. Now I will fix any mesh issues and paint the final diffuse texture for one last bake.

Ok guys, I will be gone for the next few hours to catch up on the last 36 hours of no sleep waiting for snow that passed right on by with a few sprinkles of rain.

Here is your globe. I had this done maybe five mins after I stopped post here before I went to bed. Then I thought I need a test program to see if it will go into DarkBasic with ease, so I wrote a small program just for it. I have test maps for FPSC, Unity, UDK and now for DarkBasic. Yeah!

I would assume that the texture would be free to use as long as Nasa is part of your credits. If you would like to know more about the textures you can view them here.

Now considering I made the model for you for free you cannot sell it. I won't allow it. The texture can be change to fit you needs however. I warped a plane to to make the sphere, so its UV layout it that of a plane. It can use any texture of the earth, planets or moons textures that require a flat texture.

Cool... like I said it will just be for free stuff usage... if I make a paid app I will seek a custom texture and recreate using my own alternate method... I suck at relief mapping lol would probably never get your level of result tbh...

Permission can be asked for at the bottom of the page. I am still waiting for it. I just was so excited about it I had to give it away early, but don't worry I have work with these people before and are usually very nice about it. It is the holidays, so it will be slow. I wouldn't give you a copyrighted item without doing my research first.

I have somethings to go do before I sit down again and do the textures and animations, but I thought this was a go stopping point for now. So far with 4 of these (one hidden for the render) in the same scene are only 1000 polys. I have some cleaning up on the model before some proper bakes can be rendered.

Ohk, if you can do the 'best' quality expected for a free models that would be great as I'm saving for a car (still in highschool) and am not relying on my parents at all for money, trying to learn to make my own way. Hey Starmind! Thank you for this thread, i think a lot of users will gain something from this Anyways, these are the item(s) i need for my new multiplayer game i am working on. Obviously you do not need to do all, if one is the limit to make it free then one it is. Im a little tight on money right now, and i have to pay for gas (car) which keeps bringing me down. But here is what i got:


DESCRIPTION: Anything warehouse related. Such as the shelves in Model Pack 3. The game is supposed to be a warehouse and i want to make it as best i can, but i am absolutely horrible at modeling. Another one could be be the roofing bar things. I can't describe it, but it is on the ceiling in the picture attached. Also, maybe just some crate textures? Doesn't have to be a model, since there are so many models of crates on this site haha. But if what i listed are not possible, then just anything warehouse related would be awesome!

ANIMATIONS: Umm, nothing really needs to be animated here. What would need to be animated here? Hmm..

TEXTURES: Hmm, umm i would say grunge but it is hard to tell because i will be adding some other media with it so it may look weird. But i would say grunge.

TIME: I don't really have a time limit, But the faster you get it to me the faster i can finish the game and the faster the FPSC Community will get to play it. That seemed a bit "rushed".. Just.. take as long as you want

COMMERCIAL/NON-COMMERCIAL: Umm, if this somehow get's to be a big game, which i doubt it will, it would need to be commercial if try to sell it right? Does making it commercial take more time/more work? If so just make it non-commercial.

PRICING: What i am requesting does not seem very hard, but i am not the one making them. So if you would kindly tell me if these will cost money that would be great!

whats up starmind could you make some extention cords in different variations like rolled up , unravled ,maybe an extension cord thats long and streight for different uses? for the extenssion cord textures clean and grungy would be awsome im willing to pay let me no if u might have the time thanks bro!!! ps im willing to share with the forum if u want you can make the extension cords orange yellow or black i might be interested in having some more models made for money later if you up 2 it! sic1ne....

But they are american cars, and not the standard Volvo cars. So a texture will not do it i'm afraid.

Ok guys, I have been asked by a few to make and covert fpsc models for UDK, so as of right now I will no longer make or convert models over to UDK. I have been working with UDK and when I feel comfortable with using it I will let you all know. So don't ask. I don't want to get mean about it. This doesn't mean I won't try your request in UDK, it just means you won't know about it unless I am successful at it. Also UDK doesn't like my old computer right now in which I am in need of an upgrade at this point in time.

Conflicting message I know, but I have this guy from Turkey, that thinks I can pull a rabbit out of a hat and all is well. When I say no I mean No. Simple as that. I hope you understand where I am coming from on this.

Crosshair didn't want to have to buy the movie last night to see the buildings in the movie you wanted, but I did. I will make you two models of the buildings of the courtyard with the big monitors on the ends. Monitors will use Bond's animated shader, but I will leave it up to you what will need to be on those monitors. Those buildings almost look Greco-Roman in design, but I will look into that more.

Desecrated Studios I should be done with your models here soon, say within the next day or so. I am helping Cosmic's wife Willow with a project, so it has taken away from you guys, not including me helping a guy with models for a Fzero remake. Which is looking cool btw.

I have two models for what you asked for from the pic, which is the shelves and the yellow bumper. I might one as a suprise, but don't get your hopes up. The guy doing the Fzero remake is my only paying customer right now and has my highest priority over doing free models.

Jswain, since you put it that way, I will see what I can do for you. Just suprises me that you are very good at making models, but you are asking me to make them for you is odd. Not saying that I haven't asked others to make models for me, but I only ask if someone is better at doing a specific model that I cannot do that well. Tell you what, let's make the model together and you can use it as a learning experience to increase your skills. The reason I say this is because you have a skill like Henry Ham to make clean low poly models. Henry Has one skill I would like to steal from him and that is his topology eye and you seem to have that same eye.

So if you are up to the challenge I would like to see what you can do with the police car model. Just post the screenie here when you are done and I will do the same. Fair enough?

Thanks for you patience guys. I have about 20 projects going on at the same time right now and is difficult to keep up on all of them. But really no comments on the Fzero remake, so much shame here I will just walk away now.

So many cool models coming out of this thread! Thanks for all the effort you put in to these. The F Zero remake looks interesting. Is it going to be a 2D game as the original? I like the remake on the recharger, it shows the difference between the quality of games these days, but, you managed to get it spot on!

I am still learning the ropes with modeling, but, i feel as though i should offer to give you a hand with some of these requests. If you want to throw some of the simpler ones my way, feel free. I could use the practice and i would more than happy to help.
