I have made map with MapScape and exported map on .dbo .
When I load it into my darkbasic game
-> no textures
-> only lightmapping
If I export map to .x
-> only textures
-> no lightmapping
How can I load map with textures and lightmapping.

.dbo map

.x map

Thanks, when i use the older version of darkbasic. It works!

Did you set the texture flags?

Are the textures in the same folder?

Did you try a .X export?

Are the textures the correct format?

You need to load as a .x and apply the lightmap shader that I have attached to this post. That should make your map textured and lightmapped.

I'm working actually with it, as I had to get rid of last U77 for misterious behavior. Atachedd U74....make a copy first to go back if necesary. About the bugs, I don't know, but I have been working with it for nearly two years.

Cheers.

I can confirm that your test map runs and appears correctly under DBPro update 1.76 with the lightmap shader applied.

Screen shot of test map. Edit: Forgot to add screen shot...

I too use DBPro version 7.4. Before I update to 7.5; I copied the Dark Basic Professional Online folder and name it Dark Basic Professional Online-7.4. Since then, I have update 7.5 to 7.7RC7. This way I can choose witch version I use by simply renaming the folders. I have had nothing but problems with my code since U7.5. So to answer the question “will my code work on it?” all I can say is if you want your code to work use DBPro 7.4. Well that’s my two cents.

There are 6 confirmed bugs I have found for DBPro 7.4.

1) DBP7_4 - Far Edges of AT get clipped.
If your program uses Advanced Terrain this may be a problem. In my experience this hasn’t been an issue for me.

2) DBPro 7_4 - Saving - Loading _dbo file Missing Hierarchy.
There is a work around using IanM's plug-ins.

3) 7_4 - Compiler detects THEN statements inside variable names.
4) DBP 7_4 - Assigning a variable in its declaration only works for variables and constants.
5) DBPro 7_4 - What we've got here is a failure to parse.
Simply stick to standard programming style and avoid using "THEN" in variable names.

6) DBP 7_4 - Could not save sound, why.
DBPro's help file clearly states; this command will save a sound to a file previously captured using the RECORD SOUND command.

@WickedX

We can have several version, and make what you say, renaming folder of the version we want to work. I have many codes, that probably I should be able to adapt to U77, but I'm very lazy to test hundreds of codes one by one trying to find out what happens. Anyway, I don`t really know what is good in new version, so we can wait.

Cheers.

I see no need for several versions. I use DBPro version 7.4 because it works. The other version I keep updated to test each new version in the hope that all the bugs will be worked out. As for any of the new commands go, I see none that would be useful to me that I can’t make a plug-in for 7.4, if needed.
