Are there any tutorials on how to program an FPS game in Dark Basic Professional? I had started on an FPS game in another language but want to write it in DBP so that I can use imposters as I have a lot of trees in the game.

I'm Never wrong, I just can't get anything right.

Hi DD...

If you had DarkPhysics you would see in the example files there is a FPSC level loaded into DBPro...

Is that what you need? The importing methods?

Not exactly. I have searched all over the place for a step by step tutorial for creating an first person shooter in DBP and haven't found anything besides the original help files from the dbpro online installation. Thanks Mr.V as this may also come in handy.

I've got the Dark Physics package but am having a bit of an issue getting the camera/cannon I had created to focus on the movement of my mouse. That's really what I'm looking for. Would you happen to know how to do this? Getting the camera to focus on mouse/cursor movement? I appreciate your help

Well I am yet to experiment with controlling other objects with mouse x,y,z commands... but urm in theory you could ray cast mouse z to get a coordinate for the canon to point to perhaps?

But the controlling of the canon hmm... perhaps use a IF PLAYER IN RANGE OF CANON then PRESS ENTER KEY TO CONTROL CANON that would be your initialise script then WHILE PLAYER IN RANGE OF CANON canon AIM MOUSE X,Y,Z...

if you follow me...

I may figure this out in future when I toy with more advanced techniques but for now still going through networking systems... hope this helped

and always happy to help out
