Participating as well... altho' Sci-Fi really isn't anything I'm any good at, but at least it's a chance to brush up on that.

...good thing that Bugsy is no contestant, otherwise we'd all be doomed anyway.

I have two questions, if the winner cannot purchase the pack from Bugsy and Wolf ( ie not any payment means ), can he give away the voucher to someone ?

Second one, does the "Cyber-renaissance" theme like the one seen in Deus Ex 3 ( see attached ) is a valid entry ?

Excuse my grammar errors, I'm French.

question 1- the pack, if you win, is free.
question 2- yes it is definitely a valid entry.

Screenshot can be viewed in the original resolution > here.

Some alternative views (including all "special" gimmicks, like the ads) > W Burgers and Coxeroni, Funbot, Futuristic toilet signs, just another perspective.

One of the very fist Sci-Fi maps of mine (I usually hate this theme ) and it was quite entertaining actually.

Guess I can't win without anything but the stock models to put in. Maybe if I can sell my hair on the blak market fast enough I can still enter.

hey, I judge fairly and evenly! these screens look nice, but also there are some things I dislike about them. as you can see, bestorio did a screen with what looks to be mainly stock media, and he's still a contender for the win. you have a chance yourself!

btw, how much is the FPS on these scenes ?

@TheK
WHOA! Your screen looks awesome!
But that means I have no chance anymore.
To me it doesn't look like FPSC, but hey, I haven't worked with this engine for so long.

@Doomster
Very nice! I'd personally like to see some shaders on those characters.

@Slayer267
OK, needs some work, but still nice work.

PS: Can i still update my screen?

Thank you guys! (The winner still is set by Bugsy )

RelMayer, the FPS in my scene were constant 60. But I have to admit that the GTX 680 is pretty much sleeping when I work with FPSC. Tri-count is about 200k.

Slayer267, your screenshot isn't 800x600 pixels in size.

Jan

Quote: "I'd personally like to see some shaders on those characters"

The characters already have shaders applied, actually - the two in the back use the one from Zombie Apocalypse, while the sitting woman uses bumpcubereflectalpha (somehow the character disappeared whenever I used a different shader).

Quote: "how much is the FPS on these scenes"

Around 5-6 FPS. That's however not the maps fault, but actually my hardwares. Only have an onboard graphic card, so it doesn't perform well with bond1's normal mapping and the fullscreen shader. Polycount was ~70000.

I see, on my computer I think a scene like yours would be played at 30-45 FPS.

Thanks for the informations.

Due to laziness and the fact I have no media that could pass as cyberpunk to a blind person (and can't be bothered to make my own)... I more than likely won't actually be able to submit anything.

Cheers,

I'm just posting to say that I'm officially entering this competition. My entry is nearing completion and I'm definitely digging the theme! Everyone's entries look really nice as well. The competition looks pretty tough to beat this time around.

I like to see how RelMayer favors though. His Deus Ex project has got me a little antsy.

Holy crap! That is awesome.

Insanity is doing the same thing everyday, same job, same route, same people and thinking 'Today will be different', thinking that over and over again. But not doing anything different.

To judges

What a work guys, really enjoying watching these pictures.
@Thek : I just can't believe that your scene is done in FPSC, we can see the quality of it in your scene.

@TheK
Just gotta say, that looks like something outta Portal 2, that'll be hard to beat!

@DarkJames
I like that one. It has the feeling of an abandoned bar, and you expect enemies to jump out at you at any moment.

@Northern
Very nice, can you try taking a shot with shaders on? That would look amazing!

@Levi Barros
I like this one as well, but the buildings look a little large compared to the character.

@Doomster
That makes me think of Half-Life 2, nice work!

@Slayer267
I like it, looks like some sort of warehouse transformed into an enemy base.

@Bestorio
That one is awesome, reminds me of Max Payne.

All I can say is, this is one TOUGH competition.
