@NickyDude: Thanks, thought it worth checking

Just to clarify gold backers do get a hard copy upon release, correct? I saw that in the asterisk but I wanted to make absolutely sure before I pledged (80 smackers for model packs, some of which I already own, and no final product doesn't cut it for college student on a shoe string budget )

Thanks again,
Captain Coder

I think the current plan is that gold backers get a hard copy on the first release out of beta.

I think therefore I am. I'm just not very good at either...

Bronze level benefits:

Lifetime upgrades"

The lines "Beta Versions" and "lifetime upgrades" are the same for all pledger levels. Why are people so sure that gold/silver level members get more regular beta updates than the bronze do? As far as the official TGC statement goes, everyone gets the same beta updates. At least that's all I see. If Im wrong, can anyone quote an OFFICIAL source that says otherwise? And what exactly is the difference between Cadence Alpha builds and Betas?

Beta versions may not be as frequent as you might think whereas Alphas are likely to be more regular for testing features as they are introduced.
I guess it all depends on whether you want a look at new features sooner or not. It has no real bearing on your game creation using the final product which would be the only reason for Gold backing in my view. Unless you simply want to support TGC.

Personally I have no real intention of creating a commercial game with reloaded, but at the time there was only one option. Since my intention was merely to support the project then it doesn't matter to me now anyhow.

Question - depending on when FPSCR gets out of beta, I may no longer be living in my dorm Can I change the delivery address in the future for FPSCR? I guess what I'm asking is, will FPSCR be shipped to the address I specify now or will it be shipped to whatever address I have specified in the database?

I'd rather the final product be shipped directly to me than to home; my parents would probably not be too pleased if they found out I was spending 80 bucks on something non-school related.

Thanks,

For everyone concerned about pledging at the Bronze or Silver range wondering if they can later on upgrade. I believe TGC will add an upgrade option for you. They did this with FPSC in the The Game Creators store which would upgrade your demo to a full version.

From a post quite a while ago from Rick he did give mention that The Game Creators Store will make its return in FPSC-Reloaded. I'm hoping the web portal of the store gets completed so I can make assets purchases when I'm not home (like while at work!) lol

Also as everyone has learned from the community in the past; don't be worried about limited models as myself and many others in the community will quickly learn the new FPSC-Reloaded structure in order to help produce content for your games, in no time. Though will be quite the mission to match the quality of work Mark has already shown us for FPSC-Reloaded.

Wait a second. All pledging levels have "Lifetime upgrades" listed. That means that all pledgers get access to the "finished product" whenever that might be. If I just pledged only to have to pay again at a later date, I just made a big mistake . Since everyone also gets betas its fair to assume that lifetime upgrades means all pledgers get access from the beta, to an actual "finished product" and beyond.

Can someone confirm that I am correct? Otherwise I have been seriously misled.

EDIT - Just to be clear, what Im asking is, if I bought a bronze pledge, I will eventually get a "finished" version of FPSCR whenever that may be without paying extra? I understand that a bronze pledge will not allow me to sell my games, but I will be able to build and share games. I will have a finished version of FPSCR and I will be have access to susequent updates. Correct?

Backed

Susysyay: I don't understand your problem :S

Backers get access to the betas, and I presume the finished product when it comes out. We also get upgrades for life.

Can you clarify your issue?

Its 1.59 am here in the UK and Rick is probably fast asleep if he has any sense.

That's where I should be too but I am like Lee and don't sleep enough most of the time as I have to watch over these boards and shortly the Reloaded site and Forums too

Still a few hours left yet of the 18th.

When Rick gets to awakening from slumber and his probable dreaming of working on the new site and other all things Reloaded I am sure he will consider activating the site if he feels its ready and will then inform everyone of it going live.

Until then you will have to wait just a little while longer and hope that you yourself are not sleeping.

You should find it activated sometime today unless Rick delays it for any reason in the mean time but my guess is it will go live today.

See you there.

Same here... haha (I don't have to watch over the boards, obviously, however its 2:09am and I'm still working!!!)

Fairly sure a standard release time,is usually around 2pm to 8pm on a mentioned day anyway - not my idea of the next day (1 second past midnight! haha)

Ok, so I randomly made up 2pm to 8pm based on apple events being 6pm to 8pm uk time, and some other recent product launches.

I believe that is incorrect.

The web site should be live sometime today 18/10 and that has not changed as far as I am aware but we will have to wait and see.

If you pledge, you will receive, amongst other things, the full game once it's released (v1) and any updates/upgrades TGC makes, for no additional charge. That means that once you have pledged, you need never spend any more on Reloaded.

That is, unless you pledged Bronze or Silver and you suddenly decided you want to sell your games. In that case, we assume (but don't know for sure) there will be a purchasable upgrade package that allows you to upgrade your Bronze/Silver license to a Gold license.

I was going to be harsh on you and say how silly you were to buy the thing without reading what you were actually buying, but if you pledged through the FPSC website, you have every right to be upset.

RICK, UPDATE THE WEBSITE TO SAY YOU GET A BOXED VERSION AS WELL!! You CAN'T leave out information like that!

Well in truth it's kind of a no brainer, I would expect they wouldn't send out a copy without asking for shipping first if they intend it to be additional to your pledge. It's a given that TGC products have always been available both digital and hard copy for the given price so why would it be any different now? Unless I have missed something here

I may have missed it if you are in a different country from the UK so if thats so then your right it should be stated clearly.

All the same you wont be receiving a hard copy of the beta and actual release is a long way off, however if it's asking for payment up front then they should make it optional.
There was no mention of it when I pledged back aways, at least I dont think so.

@rolfy I live in the USA, and I never bought from TGC before. The copy of FPSC I did buy was from a store.
@clonkex that's where I did go to pledge. I did not see anything about a disc copy. Although I can probably add money to the card so.

Okay, so I had some trouble getting the payment processed, and have only just now gotten access to the MPs. I have 10 new MPs in my inventory. What about the other 4?

Modern Day isn't showing up with the order, though I already bought it and am assuming they aren't giving me a duplicate copy.

I got the Castle-horror pack, which I guess was part of the ten.

I have the Zombie Apocalypse and Military Zombies packs, so those were apparently covered in the ten as well.

What is vegetation plus? I got the tropical foliage pack with the order, is that it?

Or are the four packs listed special FPSC-R packs that are in the works by TGC?

Thanks,
Captain Coder

Got it The extra 4 packs are going to be out for the new engine (reloaded) some point in 2014 (I think) after Christmas anyway.

You will have a total of 14 eventually:
10 classic + 4 Reloaded

I'm just kidding, no need to answer that. those model packs look

First question, No. No pickings in the MP department. Every Gold pledger gets the same 10 packs.
Second question, Yes. You get the MP's, right after payment is approved, in your 'download' folder.

I can confirm that. I just pledged Friday and got the 10 packs on Saturday. Actually I had every one of them except three. But, that was OK by me.

The three I got was still worth $59.79 US. So that was still a good deal.

No, I'm pretty sure we won't get an email. We will need to look in the "MY Products" site.

In fact there already is this in mine:

FPSC Reloaded BETA - DirectX Web Installer (File Updated: 30th Oct 2013)

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to work for me and this might just be the installer that it's downloading. I'm going to wait patiently for awhile and try to figure it out for myself. I actually wasn't looking for it. I was seeing if I had purchased a certain MP and to see how much money I've spent on the store.

Addendum:

It looks like this simply installs some DLLs that would be needed for the Beta install. This is not the beta itself.
