Two days from now I will be flying off to Anchorage.

I am shutting down and packing up my Mac Mini in about 10 minutes. The day after tomorrow, I fly off to Anchorage! Fortunately, my KVM switch for two devices showed up today and works for my travel laptop and the Mac Mini (they won't share monitors, but will share keyboard and mouse). I won't have a very big table to set up on in the hotel that will be my home for the next few months (it does have a full kitchen).

It may take a while for my monitors to show up. So, I won't be watching these forums until I have a screen bigger than 10". I might get to work on my WIP a bit (only seven fields to finish before I can publish).

To everyone testing V2, good luck! I will watch the progress (and eventually join in, after I have a proper computer setup again).

To everyone working on WIPs, keep going and good luck!

To any newly published apps while I am out of contact, Congratulations in advance!

Cheers to all. I will return!

Cheers,

I have no plans to visit Alaska but if it happened by any chance, I will make sure to pass by and say hello.

I'm sorta back. I gave in a couple of days ago on my smaller screen. It was hard to stay away. My monitors showed up yesterday! Tonight, after work, I'll set up my Mac Mini.

Almost back to normal.

But I'll only have evenings now. No more watching the forums all day.

I'll have to budget my time and make the WIP a priority now.

Thank you everyone for your nice thoughts.

Cheers,

That's why Alt is so damn close to Tab - or why you have your email program behind your browser... maybe that's just me though.

My main PC PSU blew up on Monday, it's been 2 days and I'm a wreck already! - don't know how people cope for so long without their main machine.

I don't think the Alaska Railroad Corporation would appreciate me browsing non-work forums several times a day. And, since they can dismiss me for any reason (or none) during my probation period, I really don't want to annoy them.

And, as was carefully explained to me, nothing I do on my work computer is private. Something that pretty much holds for any work environment (other than my previous one where I was my own boss).

My travel computer is actually a fairly powerful custom job (Fujitsu). It's main limitation is the small monitor.

But I do miss my regular setup. At least now, I have a decent sized monitor as the second one on my laptop.

I do look forward to the house getting sold and my husband getting up here and us getting a new house and getting my computers all back in place. (I will combine my 'business' and 'home' operations into the more powerful box and have four 22" monitors!)

Good to see the move went well, AL. Surely you can still browse the forums during your breaks and/or lunch while at work? (Even if just with your phone) Do keep us in touch about how things go, and your WIP.

Breaks? Lunch? Not really. Lunch is eating my protein bar and banana while working on something (today a Perl script).

If I do browse, I tend to want to participate and that takes time. I am much safer off keeping it out of the office.

And browsing on my phone would be extremely frustrating. It is barely tolerable on my laptop (size wise).

I hope to make progress on the WIP this weekend. There isn't much that I need to do now (get driver's license, register car, wait for car to arrive) until my hubby arrives after selling the house (in a few months?). So, I can devote time to important things.

Cheers,
