Hi all. I've not done any AppGameKit coding for some months now. I've been distracted by FPSC Reloaded for awhile. I'm thinking of starting a new project, but want to use 3D. I'm not sure if much has been added yet, with AppGameKit V2, or the original.

Are animated 3D models supported yet? If not, is there any time scale on them? I can get away without them to start with, but will need animation fairly soon I imagine. I have been waiting for this to be added up to now, but am hankering to do something and may have missed some news on this.

What are all the new spline commands about? Do I need a program to create them? If so they are fairly redundant for me, and there seems a lot of commands specifically for it, if so. For a 3D project I imagine they are useless, but I am curious to know I didn't find the documentation about them helpful Although there is probably an example I have failed to spot.

No. Some members have created their own routines for simple animated models but nothing has been added to AppGameKit specifically. V2 is already many months behind schedule, not even the promised 2D features and OUYA support have been added despite an estimated delivery date of last October. Paul has been focusing much (if not all) of his attention on updating a driving theory app instead of V2 core updates, we've been told, so perhaps check back in another half year

Spine is a program for creating more procedural and compact sprite animations. It's a commercial product that now costs anywhere from $60 to $250. It is only pertinent to 2D animations. http://esotericsoftware.com/

Ah, thought there may have been some movement by now, oh well. I remember now it was on Kickstarter. I tried to get it at the time but couldn't get payment to work, never can with Kickstarter. Not gonna be buying anytime soon now though, so those commands are redundant as well

I imagine terrains are still not supported then? I'd have to load up a 3d model instead? I forgot that one in the first post.

Cheers for the quick answer xCept. I could go back to DB Pro I suppose, but thought AppGameKit was a tad faster in the main, and would prefer to use it when possible. Then again DB Pro has everything I need to make the game, apart from speed I've tried before and it went well till things got too busy.

Oops got distracted for an hour or more while mid post!

Looking at your AppGameKit backer badge I guess you already bought it

@ Digital Awakening. Yeah I have AppGameKit V2 and the original. Just not used V2 at all yet beyond a bit of standard stuff. Not got Spline though.
@ Easter Bunny, I thought there was an online tool for this now? I originally released Moonsnaker on android using the old awkward manual system. I tried the online way out it seemed fine at the time. Things may have changed now? Since I had a HDD crash, I've had a few die on me of late , I would have to reset up eclipse and such for the old system. I was hoping to avoid bothering if and when I want to do another android project.

Ah, I see, fair enough. I'll take a gander when I am looking to try something Bound to be easier than the original method
