Just spent $12 for a whole ton of sprite sheets and music. All royalty free.
Pretty awesome deal.

I noticed in one of the downloads it says the assets can only be used in RPG Maker - so it may be worthwhile to double check anything before using it elsewhere.

It's a little odd. Each DLC has a different license. About 75% of them say you can use the assets with other game creation software. I have seen a couple that say you can't though. Most just seem to require that you add a copyright credit in your EULA. Definitely read the agreements for each pack before just using it in a commercial product. However, the assets would still be extremely handy as references and use in prototypes even if they aren't allowed in commercially sold products. I've found most are OK to use though. Best to read, make note, and keep that license agreement though (same goes with any images or music you buy to use in your products)!

Thanks for the heads-up! I've been going through the readme-files, and found that you can only use the following packs in non-RPGMaker software:

sound and music:
- Adventurer's Journey (dlc 1)
- Inspirational Music Pack Volume 1 (dlc 2)
- Modern day music mini-pack (dlc 1)

graphics:
- High Fantasy Resource Pack (dlc 2)
- Steampunk Western Preview Pack (dlc 2)

It seems the main portion of the sound and graphics are therefore not usable in (commercial) AGK-creations. Not sure about the Character Game Hub btw.: I haven't been able to check it out yet.

I went for $12 just to get Game Character Hub. That looked really useful, at least for prototyping.

I already bought RPG maker a while ago for fun. My boys spend hours building worlds. I must turn them into actual games with them at some point so the joy of game making can really be brought home

Along the lines of 2D RPG programs, I have used RPG Toolkit for many years:

http://rpgtoolkit.net/home/

It is completely free, the last I knew, but it is Windows only, I believe. It's been around since the 90's, so it is well developed.

I guess this isn't really relevant here, but I thought I would share it.
