Ive done numerous searches for multi platform app development kits and have many different reviews.

The current version of AppGameKit has been a great experience and its truly a great app design engine but I'm foaming at the mouth almost praying for the design process to go faster and at least have more input of its process. I didn't become a gold pledger or purchase AppGameKit books and extra tools to bash the engine. I did it to help bring AppGameKit further in development and use it extensively. It just seems that its gonna be years before its complete. My main frustration here is AGK's inability to support importing 3D Object Animation in any format. Its almost been a year since that's even been discussed. In my opinion there's too much work and effort going into FPS Reloaded which I also Gold Pledged for and AppGameKit is left on the shelf!

Anyone have any suggestions for a temporary substitute until AppGameKit can import 3d object animation?

How about the king of 3D = Unity?

Delphi has good 3d support too and is multiplatform but the pricetag is a bit prohibitive unless you do pro work.

SoftMotion3D: Love DarkBasic but like you said its not cross platform and Ive geared my game developing to cross platform handheld devices as this in my opinion (at least amongst my children, family and friends) is becoming the standard of game play.

Just really wish AppGameKit would get the 3D Object Animation issue done which is key to any 3D engine. I personally feel that AppGameKit is way more important as well as a potential money maker for me and TGC's future than putting all effort and focus into FPS Reloaded which will die fast!

Hi
I think it could be great to have the possibility of import 3D animation too.
It would be in the v2 ?

With no hesitation TGC and AppGameKit is a wonderful thing! Just got wrapped up into it a little to much and put other options to the side anticipating more feedback of its progress and faith that the development process wasn't going to be this painfully long to implement something as valuable as 3d object animations which is fundamental to any game engine.

Years ago I supported TrueVision3D (TV3D) and the developers promised and promised and after patiently waiting they just disappeared! AppGameKit is a little more painful because of my Gold Pledge and their promises seemed more legit. It just seems their focus is more based on FPS Reloaded which is nice but the future of games from a developer stand point is in a product like AGK. If AppGameKit was seriously more important to TGC in my opinion they'd be way ahead of the competition because when complete it will be an amazing app game kit!

COME ON TGC! YOU HAVE A GREAT PRODUCT HERE AND WHEN COMPLETE; A GOLD MINE.... At least a little more feedback would be nice to people that pledged. Plenty of feedback for FPS RELOADED but nothing for AppGameKit!

@blendman ... the 3d animation support is coming for agk v2 but will probably be really late this year.

Lee is working on Reloaded and Paul is working on AGK. The massive delay is because Paul had to work on other projects too. More 3D is coming. Paul is currently working on a new compiler and that brings a lot of good stuff. Alpha 4 is scheduled for June. Then Paul will work on a new IDE before starting on 3D. Every update brings lots of highly requested features. Paul can't do all at once.

@aviles22 any sdk is only good as long as it keeps being updated with the latest innovations. take ads for example, agk has fallen way behind current 2014 standards

Its just obvious that the progress of AppGameKit is just too large to handle for one person. Before anyone starts bashing me just remember how many great things Ive said about AppGameKit! Its been way too long waiting for basic fundamentals and I just have to choose my future for my app development.

By the time TGC finishes fundamentals of AppGameKit, technology will change or something new will come out. Happened with TV3D. Sick of these companies taking pledges from many people then absolutely no feedback from their supporters. HAD a wife like that! KNEW many small companies that are non existing now. FEEDBACK! FEEDBACK! Tell people that give you their hard earned money that support you whats going on or leave the answers up to other supporters and pledgers to act like they know the deal!

i don't agree fully.

there are other sdks that are being worked on by only 1 person, with 2 or 3 updates every month. so it CAN be done. but you must put in a work day of work every day, not once in a while.

not even $ from a kickstarter managed to kickstart agk. i think no one who wants to make a living from developing apps is going to consider working in agk

If this is going to be another one of those threads, then I'll lock it.

If you need to vent, go vent to the people responsible, not the community... not people who are using AppGameKit and don't need the forum turning into a soapbox about v2. Seriously I understand the frustration but consider for a second how the hell moderators are supposed to respond or deal with issues that we can't fix or even provide satisfactory information on. We can't moderate Kickstarter complaints without causing more complaints, so just stop posting complaints here about Kickstarter. This is a forum, not customer support, not Rick, Lee and Paul's hotline, and definitely not Kickstarter's complaints department.

We seriously need an AGKv2 section so this area can be left alone for people happily using AGKv1.

The problem with AppGameKit is that it had to be scrapped, and "made all from scratch". If they continued with the old compiler, allot of fundamental errors would not be fixed. The second problem is that only 1 person is working on it, not 10 as it should been.

I think AppGameKit will make great progress, as soon as the compiler and IDE work is done.

It's like fixing an old house, and finding out that the whole basement has to be replaced...

I appreciate the responses. I truly enjoyed using AppGameKit and especially looked forward to its progress which is why I pledged and had patience for about a year but unfortunately that year is up and there really is no progress. Just think its unfair. I purchased V1 and pledged on V2 and there is almost zero progress since.

Go ahead and close the thread but I'm honestly more disappointed than anything else because AppGameKit can really be something great if it were taken more serious by TGC and the design team were more than 1 person.

I don't agree with this "it's just 1 person" thing.

There are other sdks that are doing great and are being developed by just 1 person. so it can be done.

AGK had a GREAT potential when it FIRST CAME OUT, as it was one of the few sdks offering native multiplatform. However things moved slow, and other SDKs have caught up long time ago...

i don't know what will happen to agk in the long run... most probably after the kickstarter is fulfilled it will fall asleep the same way that happened with darkbasic
