Hey,

I built up quite a collection of 3D files during my DBP days and converted them to DBO but rather stupidly I then deleted the original files thinking that DBO would always be good enough.
Now that TGC no longer support their own proprietary 3D format (very odd!), I'm left with a large amount of useless 3D files.
I could really do with converting them to an AppGameKit friendly format but don't have any idea if it's possible.
In an ideal world, AppGameKit would import DBO files but since it doesn't (and it doesn't look like it's going to happen) does anybody know of a method of converting DBO to something that AppGameKit supports?

Thanks

Fragmotion loads DBO and converts to .x which can be loaded by AGK.

I think you can use DBPro to save the mesh to a file, but only the meshes...

OK!

Any other suggestions?
Fragmotion forces people to type out some religious nonsense in order to check out the trial.
I find it incredibly offensive and simply can't bring myself to do it!

I've emailed them to see if there is a non-religious trial version but I don't hold out much hope.

Make a dbpro file that batch reads all DBO files in a certain folder, and saves them to .x format.

I thought the saving of X files from DBP was a feature that had been removed?

If you have it to hand then a test would be very much appreciated.
For me to test it would involve a full install of DBP - I haven't used it for a long time!

Thanks

If I remember correctly DBPro will only export a .x file with the save mesh command but with errors and no animation.
You may want to buy Fragmotion because it has a lot of other uses for fixing problems with models.
You will need it if you have a model with animation that has errors and want to use it with ragdoll physics in AGK.
A lot of the old dbo models have errors that can easily be fixed in Fragmotion. Fragmotion is more powerful than your
average modeling program. I would have never got the ragdoll physics code working for GG or AppGameKit with out Fragmotion

If I buy it does it still try to force the developers religion on me?

NO.LOL
I think he struggled devising the code for Fragmotion so much that he just wants everyone to pray
to make sure it works.LOL
