Time is an illusion created by man in an attempt to measure the reaction of molecules.

The future and the past are just thought processes.

You either imagine the future, or remember the past.

The only reality is a perpetual state of now.

I started programming in college, on punch cards, literally a half century ago. The last 12 years have been the best by far, all thanks to people in this community who have taken the time to share their knowledge,

It's always nice to hop in here and check what people are up to even though I haven't used TGC stuff in a long time.

I may have joined in 2003, but I was a member of the older original DB forum for years then RGT before it vanished. I had to look up when DB was created, 1999. So I've been a user since it was first created, cause I was 16 when I started.

DB old guard represent I started in '99 as well, was my first taste of game development. As a teen in rural Tasmania, straight up changed my life.

In the early years I had an Atari 800XL, then I moved up to an Atari ST (at one point I programmed it in Assembly language) and then moved on PC programming when I stumbled on DarkBASIC at a bookstore. DB Pro is still a lot of fun to fool around with. This community is awesome.

Boo!

I took quite a long break (kid, wife, job, etc..) But I came back recently.

Working with DBPro now but plan on a move to AppGameKit in the future.

Sorry for the late reply! I was done at EA almost 10 years ago, and have been happily doing non-game programming since then

Not been around here for ages, but dropped in recently to see how it was all going.

Without a doubt my love and passion for development stems from my time spent with DarkBasic, DBPro and onwards.

Now I'm a man of .NET, however maybe I might just go and download DBPro again and have a play...

[edit]
It would seem this account isn't as old as it should be, interesting. I think my old email was inaccessible, so I made a new account. Went under "Powersoft" IIRC

Time flies eh guys? Seems like only the other day when it was like an unofficial competition to post the most on the old forum. Indy destroyed everyone before I gave up (I was third for a while, from before being able to easily post from the toilet ).

1999? Yeah sounds about right.

Cheers

Scary thought that you've been here for nearly 20 years dude. I wonder if we have any members that weren't born when you joined?

Hell I joined when I was a wee lil' teenager, naive to the world, now look at me, I'm a man. *thumps chest* I even have facial hair and everything.

I miss the grey forums, when I was a young high school 15yr'ol coder, with so many epic JRPG ideas in my head that I was sure of creating and becoming a billionaire! ....18 years later(oh wow), and the only thing that has changed is my age lol. Anyone remember those DBC RPG demos? Just showed how DB could create awesome games.
