When I've had time, I've been playing Half-Life: Alyx and Doom Eternal.

Mind I think I'm one of the few people atm who seems to prefer Doom (2016) to Doom Eternal...
There are aspects of Doom Eternal that I think are an improvement, but the ridiculous zerging of enemies, low ammo (with a timer-based ability to regain it from kills) and almost non-stop action.
Just feels more "empty" and "mindless" to me.

I've invested over 500 hours into Super Smash Bros Ultimate and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it.

I play it competitively at a high level, so I go to lots of local tournaments and meetups.

I bought Doom on steam, have yet to actually play it. I still play the Diablo seasons. I reach the accomplishments needed to increase my stash tabs then fade away.

This may be considered blasphemy, but just 2 weeks ago I beat Ocarina of Time for the first time, even managed a 100% run, 3ds version. Now, I've decided for a little challenge and started playing through the entire Might and Magic series, starting with book 1. About 15 hours in so far, so much grid paper used...

If we're including board games... I've been running a Fallout Wasteland campaign for a few weeks now.
My brother had planned for me to come across the Brotherhood of Steel, at least before this stupid Flu Hysteria; but no where is bloody open or shipping (within a reasonable timeframe).

Keep joking with him, that if the current nonsense keeps up; we might end up using bottlecaps for currency :p

Flu? What flu? There's a coronavirus pandemic in full swing at the moment, which has already caused over 100,000 deaths. Have you been living under a rock?

Quote: "Coronavirus' are a variant of Influenza..."

Please bother to look things up before you spread dangerous misinformation. Influenza and coronavirus are distinct classes of viruses. Coronavirus may share some similar symptoms, but it is NOT flu. Influenza viruses belong to the Orthomyxoviridae family, while coronavirus viruses belong to Coronaviridae. You're the kind of person who tells others to not worry about self-isolating because "it's just a cold" (again, caused by a distinct class of viruses, just so you know).

https://www.statnews.com/2020/03/03/who-coronavirus-different-than-influenza-can-be-contained
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-does-the-new-coronavirus-compare-with-the-flu

As for the rest of your waffle unbacked by sources, I'm more inclined to believe the WHO, CDC, and than the NHS than some random person on the internet that mistakenly believes two different classes of virus are the same because they share some of the same symptoms. I'm going to take this outbreak seriously, and take measures to protect myself and others.

Coronavirus is nothing new, you can see proof of that on the label of any lysol bottle. The currently mutated strain of it going around the world is what's new.

Quote: "and it HAS NOT caused over 100,000 Deaths."

It may or may not have caused the death, but that's how many folks have died who tested positive for the virus. I don't believe you're trying to negate the death toll of the virus. People with existing, underlying health issues made up 99% of corona related deaths in Italy. Now it's entirely plausible that many of those folks may have survived had they not contracted the complications related to the virus. But it's also just as plausible they could have had the virus and survived had they not already had other health issues as well. It can go either way.

Cases have been reported of people who overcame the virus only to become reinfected again later. (Information on this is scare at the moment, so how true it is I'm not sure)

Roughly 2 million cases have been reported, with 25% of those recovered and 6% have died. These figures are worldwide. And while the media has recently come out to say the US has the most cases and most deaths of any other country, the US has also performed 3x more tests than any other country. Statistically, it makes sense we'd have more confirmed cases since we tested way more people by far.

My data comes from various sources online, including WHO. I would also say these are estimates at best, as the figures I get from WHO and CDC so far have not matched.

Do I think the world has overreacted? Yes a little bit. But judging by how quickly this seemed to spread and the lack of a vaccine or existing antibodies to help fight it, corona has surpassed flu-related deaths and isolation may be the only way to minimize the spread.

I am currently playing The Long Dark. I am personally a great fan of this game because I like to play survival games because I think they are close to reality. After playing this game too much I came to practice different survival skills in this game. I want to share those survival points which I gathered from my personal experience.
*Navigation is the key in this game.
*Manage the resources.
*Set up Camp and be efficient.
*Prioritize tasks
These are some general tips I want to give from my experience. Other than this, I want to say be creative and enjoy this game because only the tough one survives.

I usually start a new Skyrim character around this time of year (while hoping Elder Scrolls VI will be worth the wait.)

A game I haven't played yet that looks super fun is "FALL GUYS"...

...and of course, the new Assassin's Creed looks promising!

Fall Guys is silly fun... it's a super adorable Takashi' Castle.
A game that I played recently (while it was in Limited Beta) was Party Animals,. which has 2 Modes... a blend between King of the Hill & Last Man Standing., where you're trying to either KO or TKO and another where you have 2 Teams stealing Candy (Gum Drops and Gummy Bears) for Points.
That's also ridiculously fun.

The last game I played was The Dark Anthology: Last Hope., with a Friend on Halloween.
It has some excellent writing and unlike the first Episode (Man of Medan)., where by half way through we were like "Oh THIS is what's going on!" ... this time both of us were on the right track but still surprised by the ending.
There is another Episode due out early Next Year., which looks like it has a "The Thing" (set in Peru) vibe to it.

I'd seriously recommend them., esp. for anyone with Xbox Game Pass, as the first Episode is available on there.
Beyond that I've been playing some Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, Among Us and Control.

whatever we're playing might have been seeded here: The Rise and Fall of Britain's Bedroom Coders

...where the Title should read "The Rise and Fall (and Rise, again?)..."

a good watch and insightful as an American who knew nothing about what was going on outside of my small circle back then.

For the last two months... I've been playing Star Wars: Rebellion exclusively. Every year or two, I get the bite and I play for weeks on end. But since the game runs like crap on modern PCs, I get a lot of crashes. Which has motivated me to code a similar game. Then I get stuck with my code and feel like it's never going to happen, so I go play the game. Then it crashes again and I lose tons of progress. I get angry at the damn game and that renews my motivation to code and I get over whatever obstacle I was stuck on last time. It's a very beneficial love-hate thing I've got going

I never thought but Minecraft Since many educators started to use video games for learning purposes, I tried it too (I'm engaged in education).
But it isn't the only one - I was interested in plenty of games recently, want to create my own list of best games for my students. Therefore, I focus on adventure and strategy games, and I seek my inspiration in different blogs; e.g., I liked the video game examples in this article.
If you can recommend something to me, I'll be happy

Remastered it twice apparently. There's AoE HD and now AoE definitive edition, the latter being the newest revision. I just bought it on steam for $20. Haven't played it yet but not sure it was worth it given I have all the previous ones.

Luke., I'd suggest City Builder Games as well as Old School Adventure Games.

In fact the three that I'd recommend are:
Discworld
Monkey Island
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

Beyond that, yeah City Builders (Strategy) Games are excellent as well... things like Two Point Hospital, Industries of Titan, Jurassic World., what makes these good are they force kids into future planning.
Sure; you get that with RTS like Starcraft or Command & Conquer; but those are more immediate "I see a problem and can solve it"., it's quite literally a case of adaptive strategy to emerging circumstances to beat an opponent.
In the case of a "City Builder"., well it's different... you're instead Planning for what you want to do next; your essentially doing all the boring mundane things they'll eventually HAVE to learn to do, but in a way and setting that makes it feel more engaging and entertaining.

Of course there are also Social Games, like Jack-in-the-Box ... which are great to get children to be competitive but in a non-combative way.
It's just a collection of Mini Dinner Party style games., but are an excellent way to foster socialisation.

Another one that comes to mind is Besieged., which is a Creative Game where you construct various physics based devices to beat a scenario... such-as "Storm a Keep" or such.
But then there's also the obvious of Kerbal Space Program... similarly physics based, but focused on Space Aeronautics and Exploration. (mind everyone knows about that one)
