AppGameKit Classic Chat / AGK Classic unusable on MacOS

Since the release of macOS Catalina including Big Sur, the Geany IDE is unbearably slow and makes AppGameKit Classic virtually impossible to use.

I notice the Geany version uses GTK2 which seems to be the issue. Would it be possible to update to the GTK3 version of Geany for a future release to make AppGameKit Classic useable on MacOS?

What was that alternative editor that everybody raved about? Maybe that would work?

Yeah, gosukiwi's Atom package is far superior to the classic IDE if you ask me. By default it doesn't support MacOS, but it can be made to by following xcode77's and my replies in that same thread. Highly recommended.
