Magic the gathering Card 3d video Game

when I get far enough with the story and the dialog I will come up with something.

This is those type of adventure card playing games. But when you battle it will be just like dungeons and dragons Where you each battle in turns and collect cards to use for different powers and energy and hit points.

The inventory system is already written out and many other great things.

No pictures for now but just a small video.

Still very early on and when I get the battle system in place I will show more.

I just got the shaders pack working with some help so Today I added some effects.

The story is you are a adventurer and have been paid to go to every mountain top to get rid of the evil forces that haunt the nearby towns.
It is up to you to defeat all your foes and collect as many cards as you can to build your experience to become the strongest warrior in the land.

There is a lot more then what is written and what is in the video so better updates to come.

I'm also face rigging most the models, so there will be great dialogue.

A update on the work I added today.

Still working out a lot but a lot has been implemented.

I have the fighting system worked out it is very basic and will do lots more like better camera placements and better animations but all in all i like it.

It is easy and simple.

Well, here is a video.

nice start, GCH. and 3D =

Quote: "It is easy and simple."

please keep it that way!

you need to give the player/use a run animation where their stride is ~10 feet/step in the vids and it seems the cards are stretched?

i used to play a similar game on my phone that was pseudo-3d and this brings back fond memories.

meanwhile, looking good

Ok thank you, It is hard to see everything at the same time, As for the animations I just kind of throw it all together and placed them in there to set it up. But the cards for being stretched , I think Mabey I am scaling them wrong. I will look into a better size. Still need to add all the writing to each card.

I thought about it to and I also played board games and card games like magic and dungeon and dragons, So I thought, lets make it real.

More to come, after adding the screen huds I think it will bring people into the feel of it.

Here is another small update, I say that as the video is small but i did a lot of work lol.

I rewrote the battle system, still simple but more efficient and now you can switch between enemies.

All the cards now have names and description's that are saved into a array, All cards do something different and you must have some to pass to the next mission.

I also added some sound effects for fun.

Soon you will have to use cards to attack and also hit points will be shown when getting hit. those are my next tasks.

Thanks for looking.

Better animations with more effects with switching in battle enemies.

Now you have to use battle cards to fight with.

More weapons and magic coming in the future.

Big update on the textures and look and feel.

I worked a lot on the terrain and how it looks so that is much better.

also I finished the battle system so now I can add any enemy with any effect and any magic to the battles.

All in video.

Nice! I like collecting cards and deck building. Your game looks great, although the light is very dim in some of the videos, but that of course gives a better playground for light effects

Thank you Cybermind, I remember playing magic cards when i was younger and thought what a great idea to mix the two.

It is not as dark as it looks in the video, it is night but for some reason when i am recording it captures more dark then light.

I am also going to have levels in the day but this is the first level so I am experimenting.

But yes , it does help with the lighting effects.

face rigs for animation

First face rig for the game, making it easy as now all the game enemies can have face animations.

Hi

It's great, I'm very interested to see your progress.

Do you use GGLoader to create your level ?
And you create the 3D models and anim it ?

Keep it up

Hi Blendman

I do not, Not yet, I have not pursued it yet, But I am making my height maps in Gimp.

Quote: "And you create the 3D models and anim it ?"

I am using all content from the game creators, I use blender to re-rig them and I do animate them and rig there faces.

I am also using Maximo animations for some like the player model.

Thank you for looking.

We have water now with no slow down, just a bit here and there but not a big difference, around 45 to 50 frames per sec with the slow downs and this is with v-sync on. Reflective and transparent.

So this is progress.

Now I am updating the texture look and stretching on the terrain.

Thank you Blendman

I have another update to show.

Lighting and sky system with clouds.

Unreal Engine and Unity eat your hearts out, After learning a lot of shader tricks and using the shader pack I can now impliment games just like or even better then Unreal Engine or Unity.

Frames at a constant 60 frames per sec.

This is with full screen shaders working for depth and contrast, looks pretty good.

can future vids be shot during dusk/dawn? i dunno about others but i expect that i'm missing a lot of detail with the "late night" vids:

then there's the part where the moon is behind the cliffs but the faces of the cliffs that are facing the camera are illuminated.

still, looking good (from what i can tell)

Sure, right now I am in-between working on different things for looks so it is always different when I record. But I will post a new video soon with the ambient light adjusted better.

That is the sun and the full screen shaders working together and it needs fixed, I need to adjust the sun dir for the shadows I think, more looking into this.

The ground is not visible with the full screen shaders so that looks a lot better.

Thank you for the input.

After a lot of work and a lot of reading and learning shaders this is the result.

A slimy wet reflective mountain terrain full if bad terrible creatures born from it all.

But yes, A lot of work and time went into this.

Nor perfect, but getting a lot better.

At 60 frames per sec.

I added a new player and also added a girl player, not all people like playing as a man.

view in high def as it is bad quality at low def.

Experience the power of App Game Kit and what it can truly do. Now if only others knew the power of app game kit they would at least try it out.

Final look on the first level so I can move onto other game tasks.

Please watch in High def to see the full effects.

Awesome! Good work!

Where did you get the model from or did you create it yourself?

Do you use the game-guru loader?

nice, GCH. more vids like this will help show what AppGameKit can do in 3D. there are some tech demos, etc, but not a lot of games that push 3D very far.

meanwhile, i'm generally a fan of some of the music that you include in your vids = bonus for me

Thank you very much, this one level took a month to finish and a lot of work and learning shaders, It is a sad thing, the video recorder does not show the real true perfect bled of everything, But that is life lol.

Virtual Nomad

Yes I agree with not many 3d demos out showing what app game kit can do, I am going to change that I have decided. I am gong to place made with app game kit all over this. Because I am no magician and I only used what was provided to me.

Ok here is a better high def quality video of this level, I just needed a better screen recorder to record all the quality.

it still looks better playing it at a higher you tube quality but looks better over all.
