Someone posted a partial screenshot of some web-based GUI in a discourse channel I was in. Nothing special about it other than for a single neon outlined button. I saw that button and this game is what came to mind. I wrote the first functional demo in about 2 hours wednesday, and now have been getting full into it the past two days (don't tell my boss). Coincidentally, there's a current game jam going on this will fit perfectly into.
See jam details here.
I don't have any saving functionality yet. There are 4 levels so far. Use the arrow keys to move. The arrow will move until it hits as block, or you fall off the map. If you leave the map, you die! Map will start over but the timer will continue. The goal is to hit every block on the map in the least amount of moves as quickly as you can. Time starts once you make your first move, so study the map ahead of time carefully.
If you like, for now, you can edit any map on the fly with the mouse. Left-click places a block, right-click removes the block, and middle mouse will reposition the arrow. Keep in mind, upon beating the level it will clear and go on to the next.
Updates:
- Added a main menu (only new game works for now)
- Added backgroud music for that calm soothing feel
- Currently 4 levels to play and stupidly easy to create new ones
- Graphical improvements, including ship trails
- sfx improvements
