bvEncrypt is a simple registration key generator. It is intended for hobbyist gamers who need to add a little protection to their applications, and to encourage registration. It is not intended for commercial use, and will not stop a determined hacker. It may, however, save you hours of valuable coding time.

bvEncrypt is coded using Darkbasic Professional

bvEncrypt optionally generates a registration file, a password-protected, zipped version, and also a DarkBasic include file for decryption.

The download is here

The PDF manual is here

Feedback is appreciated. Future releases will include additional functionality built into the registration code, such as multiple user-levels.

What font did you use for the pdf, and what did you use to make it, as I can't read it on my mac.

Other than that it looks cool, I'll have a play

Looks like Verdana or Tahoma here.

Get 15 new commands, all the date / time commands left out of DBPro for free!
DOWNLOAD PLUGINS HERE: http://www.davidtattersall.me.uk/ and select "DarkBasic"

It's Verdana. I use PDF995 to generate it, so I don't have the option to embed. There's one attached to this post in Arial.

Could't you include the Key in the .PDF or something?
My hotmail's down, and I'd like to try this out

[EDIT] Do we need the Registration Key at all? I can run the program fine...

No, you don't need the reg key at all.

It's only there to demonstrate how it works, the reg key was made with the tool, then I recompiled it with the function it wrote for me.

While not registered, it shows the About box. When you register, it disappears. There is absolutely nothing disabled.

BTW, the next update is on it's way soon. It will have the optional ability to write a function that can read the reg key from a file block (requires the enhancement pack obviously). The encryption will also be more complex. Still simple, but more complex than it is now.

What a great idea! Might cause a surge of new shareware DBP products, which if anything is good for the scene
