I was looking around for places to submit my game for more exposure, and am having a hard time finding places to submit it to. I figured other people would also be interested in showing their games to a wider audience, so I am asking all you experienced people to share your vast knowledge with us What I am looking for are places such as tucows.com where you can submit your game and they will rate it for you and link to it so that a bunch of people can find it and download it.

I look at ZDnet for shareware and freeware. It may not be what you are looking for though as you are going to use a publisher.

Edit: Real networks also has a gaming download system.

A lot of these websites must sign up for things like the Blitz and TGC newsletters for the new freeware games news - as well as checking the showcase here - really I'd be surprised if Firewall wasn't already on umpteen Czech and Dutch game sites already.

I think that you should aim higher, like try your damndest to get it on a PC mag coverdisk, that would be some awesome recognition and coverage, that'd be an excuse to throw a party if ever there was one!.

Yeah www.caiman.us and www.freegame.cz to name a few feature most DB games actually. And they host, rate, review, link to your website and credit you too!
Talking about magazine CD's, I got an email from 'PC World' magazine in Australia and New Zealand requesting permission to put Alien Racer (One of my games) on the cover CD (I obviously said yes!). Dunno when It'll be out but they must be doing a freeware game feature or something...I really don't know why they'd put my game on the CD otherwise lol it's not that good IMO

Gamehippo.com is really good.

Takes a couple of weeks to get your game on there.

If you go to http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/program.htm they have a piece of software called SoftSubmit which automagically submits your software to 50+ sites. The software's not that intuitive but I used it for WordTrix 2.0 and now it's all over the place.

Don't forget to build a PAD File and sumbit to all the PAD sites.. A lot easier than manual submit, and PAD sites (mostly) auto update as you change your PAD (which are hosted on your server)
