Anyone one know why we drive on the right side of the road? It's actually pretty funny.

You drive on the left for the same reason except that swords were sheathed on the left side

Wow, I never knew that. Who can explain Japan's left-side shenanigans?

thats also why castle staircases spiral a particular way (anti or clockwise i cant remember) the point is that when you swing your sword, if you way going one way, the sword would just hit the canter of the staircase, whereas if you were going the other way the sword would be able to swing round freely.

left side for aussies too, i also heard re: the sword drawn was the reason for the left side.
your right hand is closer the centre of the road for attack should you need to do that eons ago etc while trying to get the morning paper. the castle one was interesting and makes sense to set it up for the person coming down the stairs instead of up as they would be attacking the castle.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

I thought Vancover got the olypics. Well whatever. Couldn't really see the olympics in Londron, doesn't it rain there all the time? I could just see it, in the 100-m run, all the runners slip on a puddle and end up in a crumpled heap, with drunk scottmen peeing on them(ok, maybe not the scottsmen). Anyway, France is better, because they speak a superior language, and have tasty foods and beverages(becherelle...er bechemelle sauce yummm). And the french would be much better at pissing on the crumpled heap of runners(they'd run on streets with pissoirs(so that they don't have to clean up the stadium floor)).

It's amazing how much TV has raised us. (Bart Simpson)

I seem to remember reading that the US drives on the right to be different from the UK. However plaes like Australia who were also colonies I suppose didn't go through thta rebellious teenager phase and so didn't bother to change

No - during Summer it's the hottest place in the UK. Reguarly over 32c, all concrete, its horrible. Tube trains get over 100f. I'd hate to live there.

Castle staircases go anti-clockwise from the top, so that the person defending has the advantage - except there is one castle in Britain (not sure where) that goes the other way around because the owner was left handed . We used to visit castles all the time as kids and the person at the top of the stairs has a destinct advantage, not just with a sword, but also with a dog-poo on a stick.

I'm kinda glad that London got it in the end, we all take this stuff quite seriously and do get disapointed when it goes to other countries every time - I think we wanted it held in London for the right reasons, and that's why it's going there. I tend not to follow the olympics very closely, but I prefer it to all the other sports on TV, I largely hate Cricket, Rugby, and Football, I would honestly rather watch syncronised swimming and toe wrestling. Golf should be made an olympic sport though, I'm no fan but if prancing round with a bit of ribbon can be considered an olympic sport then so should Golf.

Cricket rules.
I'd like to believe that we will win the ashes but there's a small problem.
We proved we could beat Australia in the odi's but for the ashes we will have to beat something more formidable.

Shane Warne. The man is pure genius. And evil also.

ummm, no we dont. we're brits, we dont take anything seriously, and we crave dissapointment, especially since we started loosing the eurovision rather than winning/doing well.

ps, i dont mind cricket as long as they arent allowed to wear burberry
