Hi everyone
I have heard of about ten 3d modelers ranging from milkshape(one of the most famous) to blender3d(A very good looking product)
But out of all of the products listed below which would you lot say is the easiest to use and will produce some good graphics for game models.

-Milkshape(any version) - http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/

-3d canvas pro - www.thegamecreators.com

-caligary game space - www.thegamecreators.com

-cinema 4d design - www.maxon.net/pages/products/c4d/cinema4d_e.html

-3d graphix live(german product) - go to google and type "3D grafix live neon software" and click the first result.

-anim8or - http://www.anim8or.com/main/index.html

-Blender 3d - www.blener3d.org

Thank you all for your help

personally I'd say Cinema 4D, but depending on how you model you may have to play with normals, but I'd say its the easiest out of my own opinion, but you gotta try demos out yourself though, you can't have someone tell you whats easiest, because people find somethings easier than others

Seppuku Geijutsu

By easy do you mean that you learnt how to use it and was generating results(good ones) quickly. Or have you had cinema 4d for a long time and find it easy to use now.
What I am trying to say is did you pick it up quite quickly or did it take a while.

I picked it up pretty fast, got addicted, and well have had a big learning curve, that kind of easy, lets just say I've been using C4D for about 3/4 months, well I'll compare two heads to show how much I've learnt in a small amount of time,
This one was from 2/3 weeks a go

this one is from 2/3 days a go

same guy, big differance, of course I've been following tutorials and that, but well my advice is this.

Look for your own 3D program, I find C4D really easy because its set out how I like it and its tools are great for me, but thats for me, I cannot say whats easy for you, so I'd say go around downloading demo's and pick your 3D program, or you'd be wasting money if you don't like what you got, I only use TrueSpace for file conversions, painting and orientating UV maps, and well not worth the money really. Cinema 4D design looks really good.
Have you used blender 3D(or even heard of it), I think thats the one I might go for but I would like to find out how good it is first.

looks very promising, people get a lot of good out of it, and has a very good tutorial support, I would recommend it, I've just never used it is all

Caligary game space looks like it produces some very good graphics, but it looks so expensive I wouldn't shell out that much money for something I could do with a cheaper program.
But what about 3d canvas pro I personaly don't think it's that good, what about you Seppuku Geijutsu.

Tried it, never worked out how to model good with it, all I like was how it animates, personally, I'd go for Blender, its good value, COS ITS FREE! and well 3D canvas can make some goodish low poly models, but i find it auto UV maps meaning I found it useless even for the one use I used it for, importing models and animating them, so well if you wanna take my advice rather than seek demos, I'd use Blender, I wish I used blender when I was looking for a free 3D app, I went for Anim8or, I was useless in that, plus blender has a lot of good tutorials, the only downside I'd say to Blender is the GUI, but give it not even a full day you'll know the GUI well enough.

Silo exports to .3DS and .OBJ (and a slew more). I stick mainly to .OBJ because .3DS files use seperate vertices for each face.

Then I take my .OBJ files into Lithunwrap to UV map them and convert them there to .X files or If they are to be animated, I leave them .OBJ's and import it into FragMotion, animate them and export them as either .X or .DBO files.

oh god here we go this is the worse question that could be asked, generally people have only used 1 piece of 3D software due to costs and time to learn so of course if you ask people for recomedations people are always going to point you in what they are using cause they think its the best one ever, then later it turns into a tit for tat kind of affair with "My software doesn't crash as much as yours so its way better"

I say maya is the best software ever it doesn't crash as much as everything else

but it slows my computer down though, took ages to load mental ray for one simple cube render! AND WELL TRY OUT SOME DEMOS!!! Thats the best way to get a decision, thats what a lot of us do, like buying a guitar in a guitar shop, everyone goes awww that custom les paul is really good, but you try it and think you want something lighter, it sounds great, then you see an Ibenez, you think, wow that light, feels good and sounds good, I'll buy it. As metaphor, the Les Paul is Maya and the Ibenez is Cinema 4D if you like

So make your own decision, we've added more to your list and get on downloading

yeah mental ray is slow in the PLU and maya 6 but it has been given a speed overhaul for 6.5 which is why I no longer worry

i tink you should try any free demos that you can find of all of these modelers and try them out. then go with the one thats best for your needs. if you want to model low poly for games then get something that makes low poly models the best. if your going for high poly for movies or just for fun then go for something that can make high poly models esily. ok !

Yes I belive anim8tor is compatible with Dark basic and pro because it is on of the programs on the cd that comes with the 700 page book on how to program with Dark basic.

But I think I will continue using Blender as I have already downloaded it and it is really good (Very easy to use)
Thanks for every ones help though.

IandG well on top of a modeler you would have to buy brazil of you could use the free version which the max resolution is 328 something by 512. And I think its only for 3ds max and Maya(not sure about this one) So if you buy those giants might as well use mental ray
