You can post all your retro games in development here,
with a short description
so everyone can get a good idea of what everyone else is doing, so we don't end up with 300 pac-man/space invaders
clones.

Here is mine:

Hyper-kart
A humourous Mario kart clone, where you can design your own levels.
Life is a terminal disease.
You never survive it.

Sounds cool DF

I'm making The Master of the Dungeon (Dungeon Master from the Atari)

Lead your characters through a dark dingy dungeon fighting monsters on the way and kill the evil dungeon master at the end.

Title: Cuckoo Catch
Based on: Baby Bounce (i'll try to find a picture)
Aim: Save the Cuckoo (chickens) from the burning barn by trying to catch them and put them in the Coop
Upgrades over the original: There are two additional games, one where you have to catch all the Cuckoo around the farmyard within an alloted time, the quicker you are the more bonus points you get. There is another one where you have to fill a bucket then put out the cuckoo's and milkuu's as they emerge from the barn before they set things alit (again a bonus round thing).

You also have additional levels of difficulty where you get milkuu's to avoid catching, and upto 3 additional barns.

Plus there is a head to head multiplayer for upto 8 users to save as many cuckoo's as they can within the time limit - as well as a secret game to unlock which is really just something funny, because you can unlock a multiplayer game which was just an excuse to get FPS action in there called Cuckoo Blast - and you use Cuckoo guns picking up different kinds of eggs which are :: ahem :: fired at the enemy (^_^)

be interesting to know which games are consider'd finished

At the moment: Duck Hunt!

Test your fps skills by shooting the ducks which randomly fly about. Based on the original Duck Hunt for the Nes, but this time without a light gun, since I've only ever seen one light gun for the PC, reviewed about 6 years ago in PCGamer. You have limited ammunition, so be as accurate as possible. The ducks fly off in one's or two's, and don't hang about for long. Extra bits - clay pidgeon shooting, and duck frenzy, lots of ducks + mp5 = fun! That's about it at the moment, but I plan to attempt R-Type and Excitebike, and possibly Donkey Kong Arcade.

Once I was but the learner,
now, I am the Master.

Title: Retro Fighter
Based on: Super Double Dragon and Streets of Rage
Aim: kick as much ass as possible to save you girlfriend from me (i'm in the game, in my imaginary form).

Upgrades: hmm basically it's in 3D, that's about it, can't really think of anything else to add

Based on: Bubble Bobble

Jump around platforms shooting bubbles at the baddies and bursting them to kill them. There will also be plenty of bonus pickups in there too.

and an original shot from the Colour version (^_^)

should work now cause Rich fixxed them
and i remember Q*Bert, was frustratingly addictive.

i've been searching like crazy for some original shots of the one i'm working on but i can't ... but i think its cause i don't know the name - or might be it wasn't very popular

if anyone knows this, but you had to save babies from a burning building. It had 3 windows the babies came out from and you had to bounce them in the air until they reached the ambulance. you were a little fireman
the different hieght ment they moves at a different speed, or rather moved along at a different speed - i'm pretty sure they traveled at the same speed.
been driving me nutz and i know of so many versions, yet the only working version i have is for the Amiga

Remake of SkyRoads (1993 - Blue Moon Interactive)

You control a small spacecraft which you have to drive to the end of each "Space Road". The space roads are effectively an obstacle course of blocks and tubes (gradually getting more difficult). There are special blocks on some levels as well, ones which speed you up or slow you down, blow you up or refill your Oxygen / Fuel levels. Each world has different gravity settings and so on.

So far:

- Level editor done
- Ship / Level collision almost finished
- Physics about half-done
- Objects (ships etc.) half-done
- Textures etc. half-done.

This is my game, below is the exact text from the program announcements(I've posted it before there).

I'm making a remake of pacman. I think you're all laughing now, because many people are going to do that I think. The name of my game is Packageman. In my game there are pipes where trough pacman moves. So you can go left, right, up, down, forward and backwards. The pipes are in 8 colors: black, grey, white, red, green, blue, yellow and purple. And sometimes the pipes are transparant and sometimes not. So you have to stay in the pipes, but sometimes you can look trough the pipes and see the world beneath you, there are trees, buildings, mountains and water. Here is a picture of the editor(not a real level, but just to show you all kind of diferent pipes).

"Qix" was the game where you had a large rectangular screen
and you had to section off areas of it all the while
avoiding a "line thingy" that randomly moved around the
screen as well as some sparks that moved along the section
lines you drew as well. You could section things fast or
slow. Points were based on the size of the section and
whether you chose fast or slow to do it.

Loved playing that game!

I might not seem quite original since I've already done a couple of try with the genre but I'm working on a remake of Wolfenstein 3D. I've done the basic player, map and entities system and I just finished the map file format.I should have a website with pics soon (in a week or two).

I found a good website that list most of the arcade games that came out.
http://www.klov.com/index.php
This may help someone who have entered the gaming scene after mid-90`s get and idea of what games are there to base his game on.

I have a new improved sky complete with planets and nebulars etc... + a more realistic terrain texture.

I'll post another screeny up when we have some enemies to shoot at.

hehee ... aww that was a nice ego stroker Shader
looks good there, but there are two i've been shown which quite frankly make me second guess my own chances.

but guess thats the fun, so many different tastes of the judges, anything could win it

no point starting a new thread just for an aswer for this question ^_^

lets say i made a stage where your in a train, now to make the illusion that the train was moving (whereas the train is made from a stationairy matrix and plane) i want to add windows so you can look out and through the windows u can see things moving by, any suggestions on what the "things" should be and how i can make that effect?

well depends on what effect you want ... the cheapest way is a scrolling texture, a more realistic method would be creating and moving objects within a world from within an array map.

really everything is upto what you prefer to do

I put up a new screeny of my entry which you can find on the announcements page.. or if you really want to you can see my tempory website for the project which houses the pics
shown around here..

this is from DBPRO
http://http://mysite.freeserve.com/Chuckie_CompPage/

I just spent 3 days on the graphics and re-coding of the level, you can't see too much from the screen shots as they are reduced in quality because they get resized to fit the Web Page, anyway it's ported now to DBPRO as well as DBV1 although the 2 look different due to now obsolete commands in DBPRO, I will try and keep a version for each though..
