We are looking into creating some new model packs for FPS Creator. What kind of packs would appeal to you? How about a medieval style pack or maybe more modern day, ww2 or sci-fi or something completely different. Please list your top 3 choices for future model packs.

My Top 3:

1. Middle Eastern Urban Pack -- We nee an Iraq-type pack with buildings, characters, and props. It's going to be occupied for at least the next 10 years, so this type of pack will stay relative for a while

2. Horror Pack -- Doom-style monsters, segments, sounds, textures, etc.

3. WWI Pack -- Characters, props, a trench system, etc.

Thanks for listening.

Hello Mike.

This are my 3 choices:

-More modern day. Including, Lifts, small outdoor for create the entrance to a house, some corridors. Including a model that are the boxed version of FPSC and DBP .

-Medieval. Castels, medieval rooms, catapults (very pretty). And maybe add a Fantastic style, adding weaposn that shot fireballs, magic, and swords.

-Underconstructing buildings. whit bricks, concrete mixers, iron tables, helmets,etc..

This are 3 choices of hundreds that are possible. All model pack are welcome.

1)Aliens stuff: spaceships, strange buildings, enemies (animated mechs, soldiers, and so on), etc.
2)Urban stuff: skyscrapers (at least, a simple box textured with only the outside of them), buildings, trash cans, etc.
3)Medieval stuff: castles, dungeons (maybe a dragon), etc.

Mike,

I know you can't be specific, but can you give us some idea on production time with new packs? Are we talking a month, 3 months, a year? General estimation would be fine. I'm not looking for a specific release date.

I think quarterly would be a feasible time frame. If TGC could develop and release a new pack every quarter I think people would be more than happy.

I have 2 ideas

1) all out segment pack- just as many types of room segments as possible. also, outdoor terrain, in the form of segmented 3d models.

2) all out charcter pack- featuring many non-violent NPCs, for immersion and story. office workers, scientists, pedestrians, real aliens, etc.

SarusX,

You raise an excellent point with "2". Non-violent NPC's. That would be very helpful. I think I'm adopting that as my new #1.

2)more modern day stuff...

3)segments...like a stacable mountain (kindof like the one in the new model pack) and some outdoor/desert stuff which i guess could go under iraquies....

1. Weapons. We need new weapons (especally Desert Eagle, the best modern pistol ever made and a AK47).

2. Horror: Fear and Doom 3 like horror entity/segments

3. Same as SkyCubes: Iraq-Style entitys, characters, segments, etc

4. Vegetation: Trees, terrains, grass, things like that¸

5. WW2 (not the same style as the default FPSC's WW2): Like Planes, Normandy Beach attack, winter things and buildings

6. Vietnam (as Samoz83)

7. Same as SarusX, Non-Violent NPC's

8. Modern Urban: city segments, cars, etc

I dont want everything i said, i'm just saying what i like really much.

instead of releasing model pack after model pack why not make it easier for us to make are own models

example :a small drag and drop program where we can drag certain pieces together to produce unique models

i believe there is something similar in 3dgamemaker almost something along them lines would be good

just a thought

A character pack would be wonderful! With like 75 different characters. It would also be nice to have a weapon pack with like 75 weapons (AK47 is needed badly!)

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

Well, let's see...

1) Horror
2) Horror
3) Horror

Did I mention horror? To the point, I think horror objects would be nice (characters too, but a bunch of inanimate entities would be great (like "Grave Matter) Pentagrams, Chains etc.)

I would like some more modern day things as well (such as the model pack, but maybe more urban based (even a possibility for outdoors (pavement, possible roads, etc.))

Melee weapons with scripts,

like baseball-bat, sword, knife, pointed stick, they could have "durability" instead of ammo, ie after a certain number of hits they break & you drop 'em.
( Default to fists when out of ammo would be nice, then auto-select weapon when you pick up related ammo )

Animals, definately a crocodile...

i agree with crow 34......i was thinking if we could make our own....but hey we can, copy some models over with the nescaserry files, change them in whatever software you got and hey presto...your own model pack.
what i would like to mention even though this is about models, what about this:
a scriptor with a window and a model in it,as you write your script it automatically plays the animation and actions in the window with the model that way you dont have to keep changing them backwards and forwards in fpsc and having to run a walkthrough all the time.

one important thing to remeber for the peeps who keep requesting model packs and that is your game will not be unique because every body else will have the same media in there games

in the end of the day anybody can take a 3d cube skin it with a skin then come up with a cardboard box or a microwave

but what i am taking about is a drap and drop interface that lets us apply skins similar to the segment editor and lets us construct are own models from a selection of building blocks

thus bringing some sort of uniquness to our games

thats my two pence

peace out

It must be said.

ZOMBIES! ZOMBIES! ZOMBIES!
There needs to be more horror in games!

Something I really want to see is string physics. So when you shoot hanging lights they shake and move, same with the light.

I think model pack 1 is incomplete, yes, i also think there should be stuff like office blocks, as a proper segment though

my #1 is non violent npc's, maby just a pure character pack covering pretty much all of the themes comming up

I may Be small, but im bloomin good on a computer!

If a pack contains zombies...make sure they are REAL zombies that limp, swing uncontrolled, etc. Zombies do now walk like regular people. If they did, well, we would just treat them like regular people and invite them for dinner instead of blowing them to bits.

1. Modern day and futuristic - casual characters and more female characters that can pouplate our worlds - they can still be enemies and able to be armed - we just could use more that dont necessarily look like military persons with packs gas masks and so on. i.e. dual use as bystanders or enemies.

2. Modern day and futuristic weapons - more please

3. Modern day and futuristic - Machinery and vehicles - some animation would be nice.

Sorry....

Could not resist....

4. Buildings and Props, bridges, etc.

I would like to see more horror characters like werewolves and vampires, mummies and witches, ghosts, Medusa, giant snake, swamp monster, goblins, trolls, spooky clown, and Bigfoot.

Also "haunted houses", Gothic cathedrals and spooky castle prefabs.
Trap doors on the floor that you can fall into, walls that swing open when you tug on a hanging candle/torch, a "bookcase" door that opens up revealing secret passages.

If possible, prefabs of hills (that extend up a couple layers) and ponds, streams, rock retaining walls, and other outdoor terrain.

Egypt themed packs would be cool too; pyramids, sarcophagus, etc.

more ww2 stuff
kubbelwagon
trucks
tanks
house ruins for an leningrad map or something.
german airborne commando modell
german soldiers with the long coats
russian soldiers and officers
and more weapons stick grenades, luger pistol,mg 34 and m1 carbines.
or yust simply convert the ww2 pacik so that it can be used with fpsc.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

sorry crow but that is probably impossible as the models will then also look as low detailed as the ones in 3dgamemaker?
yust think about it?
and they would then also have to redo alot of the stuff in fpsc.

Dude, this would be cool.

(1) Definately Melee, especially fists, but also sword and the like.
(2) This isn't a model pack idea, but how about allowing some physics in multiplayer, like rockets or in the middle ages arrows or something. Let developers decide what physics to include.
(3) Aliens is a sweet idea, but not little big headed green men. Powerful aliens, like in halo.

wasent a model editor originally planned what happened to fpsc-entities.exe?

it seems to me that with out a fpsc persific model editor you either have to be mega rich to get hold of 3ds max a pirate in which case i wouldent know were to start and proberly get kicked of these boards if i was or look for a budget modelling app which is not really practical when character modelling uses character studio from 3ds max

in which case its down to making generic games with generic models with the games all looking the same if you dont own 3ds max or a worthy modelling app

so my request is for fpsc-entities.exe that was orginally planned

peace out

2.)More WW2 Weapons (M1 Garand, K98, ect)
3.)More Morderday Characters and Objects

Edit: I have Milkshape and exept for the scale it works fine. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN I DON'T WANT THESE MODEL PACKS!!!!!

this is all well and good for static entities but i am reading posts like i want zombies zombies and all other sort of stuff

but it seems to me that apps like milkshape are not really that great for making custom characters

my point is this i dont want the same zombie in my game thats in a 100 other games i want my characters to be unique to my game with out spending a fortune on 3dsmax or learning another app

FPSC-Entities.exe wasn't supposed to be a model editor, I think. It was supposed to make all the FPEs and junk. You'd have to model yourself.

To add on to my original post, I would like to add that booby-trap entities/segments would rock. The new spikes are nice, but a trap door to fall on them from would be cool. Things like this would be cool, and would be very sadistic.... MWAHAHA!

Sorry to keep posting, but

Conjured - All very excellent ideas! Cowboys and Indians was a favourite of mine, very fun. I'd like to see a Wild West pack, I'm sure that every Amercian with FPSC would buy one!

I also like the idea of more women and real cops, as well as "punk rockers" and the like. This would also be a very worthwhile buy. I love your idea of assembling packs ourselves, because it would enable us to get exactly what we want, and at the amount we desire (and maybe discounts the more you buy, etc.). In other words, I agree 100%. Very good suggestions.

here's my 3 ideas:
1) more corpses? i get a bit bored with just the skeleton and that silly featureless corpse, possibly dead soldiers ect?
2)fantasy/medieval type stuff
3)more spacey type terrain, like martian terrain or saturn. (or the sun)
