You chould have at least specify the project or about your little company... Or at least give us a link to your website...
Frankly, few people would be interested with such little details...

All projects have been cancelled due to some important matters (darn it!) but "The mask of Zorah" is still continued...

If an 'employer' is looking for people, they usually go through more 'professional' processes, this however is badly done team request like.

If you want to see how to 'employ' people in the 3D business, look over at forum.3dworldmag.com, in the jobs section, you will find request by a lot of companies, actually some where for bigger companies, I've seen Dreamworks and the company who made the dungeon and dragon games....(Looks for Baulders gate, bugger room in a mess)

However this scares me off, as much as I would love to give up my job, but this isn't convincing, there was one however that did over at the 3DW forums, it was
Jagex;
Job, 3D modeller for Runescape
Skill requirements: No qualifications needed but need good knowledge of blender or better applications
Location: Cambridge, UK
Age restriction: 18+

I fill these requirements all but the age restriction. So I was really gutted

Actually, these kind of jobs require 18+, so really, if you are an employer, you're not very good at it I'm afraid, at least Jagex and the D&D people said something about their projects

Hey! Jagex is the company who made Runescape, you would of become quite popular working for them.

The question seemed completly valid to me o.O He didnt ask if anyone wanted to work on abc project doing xyz - he specified two critera a) you can model well and b) you want to earn some money. Perfectly valid critera, if anyone is both of those they can email him for information of what hes got and what he needs done. As his positions are now apprantly filled I guess someone did match those critera.

Also I find it quite funny when people start going on about how pros do blah and whatnot when, to be quite blunt, none of us are professionals and theres no requirment for us to do things professionally. On the flip side I doubt he will ask to see your full curiculum vitae either.

Actually it was this year, so its not the whole runescape lot , plus, the low quality is due to keeping the speed high and the download time fast, because there are a lot of 56k-ers on crappy pc's out there who can't use Guild Wars etc.

Shame, only two years off of my age too...dammit, wonder if they'll be open for positions when I turn 18, I think their wallpapers could do with improving

@Sephnroth
This dude is hiring people as a job, as 3D modeller, he is asking for experts, he hasn't given details for what the modeller to expect, there are people who are biased in their work, like me, my expertise is polygon modelling, and then I go and email him, and find out poly modelling will not work and will have to resort to box modelling, will be a stab in the back, there are also things people hate modelling, like I hate modelling ships, if he wants to employ people, he should do it properly, my woolworths application form did not say;

Name:
Address:
Phone number:
Do you have common sense?
Can you be polite?

and if I say yes at the bottom 2 I get the job. Which is why I refered to proper forum job recruitments, because you need some degree of pro quality in your applications

Seppuku - no. He has some modeling jobs that need doing and hes offering money for people to do some. Hes not employing people, that would imply paying their tax stamp and what not and seriously doubt he is.

You;re a modeler? want to be paid for some work? Email him and find out what hes got and if its for you. If you are a polygon modeler and his list of tasks is all box modeling, its not for you but what have you lost? nothing. maybe 5 minutes of your time. I really think people on this forum are a little too high on their horse about how pros do things, I really do. If i want one of the people i vaguely know through my musicial connections to do some music peices for me I would do much the same thing as here - "any people good with composing that fancy earning a quick buck email me and i'll tell you what i got that needs doing". Then i can provide people, over email, with a list of tunes, genres and styles and people can pick what they fancy - if they fancy none of it no loss.

If you are worried about the authentcity of the person you are dealing with and actually getting paid then you simply dont provide the goods until they have been purchessed, you can provide screenshots of the work. *shrugs* theres always a way and it doesnt usually require getting uptight about protocal. If he was contracting for big jobs, that different. If he was long term employing people, thats different. Some dude wants a few modeling tasks done on the cheap for anyone who fancies some pocket money? pfft, professionalism really isnt that important.

So you are basically saying this is a paid team request and not a job application, then shouldn't he/she at least follow the team requesting rules?

Plus if its a company (as he/she stated), then some professionalism is needed, as anything the company does reflect on the company, you see, from this thread, I don't actually believe its a company request for modellers, but someone with cash(or could be lying about that) and it using the word company to attract people and not look like a team request. And well that turns people away.

Well if he's a representing a company, professionalism is needed, as he would be representing them, you wouldn't expect any small company, or any company of any kind to go, we need modellers, we have money, email me to find out, and well, I return to the team request rules, see how a team request that looks like the above gets destroyed by people, job app is basically the same thing, except has money. And no I am not uptight on professionalism, I find some of the least pro material on this forums, is actually some of my favourite, like Squirrel Wars, very crude, but fun and a great game.
