Even though I think everybody should use Darkbasic... it would probably be better to just compile your code. That way lazy people that don't already have Darkbasic wouldn't have to download and install Darkbasic just to look at your game.

And please don't post a link to your forum again (we're all sick of seeing newbie forums on free sites). If you want us to look at your games... make a direct link to the download.

Why should he? There is a board for newcomers right here. And no offence, but why would anyone join your forum, when they got all what they need right here? I would like to hear why people should join your forum? Newcomers can go right to this board to get help, it's good for newcomers too, and there is more members here to help them.

I'm not flaming you, just asking what the advantage(don't know how to spell that) would be to join your forum

And you got a forum right here to show people your games, no need to make a whole new forum to do that(atleast i don't do that myself)

He didn't say that any time in the post.

You could just post direct links to the games. That way people would not have to enter a forum. Or you could have a website with them etc.

oh well, have it your way

Fast reply eh? I had just edited my post a little and then noticed that you had posted too.

I'm far from being a "master programmer" but all my friends that don't program say that every once in a while. They know i've been programming since the 80's... with only about 7 years of non-programming because I was sick of QuickBasics limits till a good friend of mine told me about Darkbasic... and here I am.

Second Thought Note: I played with C++ in the last year of that 7 years... but not real seriously (I just learned the basics).

I'm glad that you're programming. It's a fun thing to do... but just because I ask you (with a please) to not post a link to your forum doesn't mean that i'm not programming. When i'm not programming my own games I spend my free time here helping people with code problems.

I don't have a forum... and i'm not going to... ever. This is the best place for Darkbasic programmers to share ideas, code, and ask for help.

Not too long ago Rich posted this:
Quote: "I smell a new forum AUP rule coming.

These "join my empty forum, with no members, and no posts worth reading" messages are getting a bit too similar.

For anyone wanting to pimp their forum here - from now on, don't. If your forum actually has some people on it, some real content, then that is different. But if like this one it doesn't, please don't bother yet.

Notice how it says "TGC Admin" under his name. Your forum fits the things that Rich talked about... right now looking at it you have:
Quote: "2 Staff Members, 0 Members, 1 Guest. Most users online was 7, Today at 3:19pm"

Dodic you are seriously digging yourself into a very large hole. Instead of trying to be everyones friend, or trying to get everyone to back you up and in the process sound like an idiot I suggest you take a backseat like every other newcomer here. Learn what you can from here. When you learn a lot start helping others. Make programs in DB and don't post gamemaker games here. Also don't try and pass off gamemaker games as games you made. In addition I would suggest that you dont make forums for DB since there is a huge community here already. Also what you don't realize is that a lot of people here are A LOT more experienced than you. You also have to realize that, that is not a challenge for you to try and show yourself as the big man. What it is, is simply that you have to learn from those who are better before you can try to do any of the following:

-insult, teach, get mad at, or try and tell people to use your forums

Learn about the ways the community works, read all the stickies and learn the rules of each forum, design something(not necessarily spectacular) release it as an honest game made in DB or any other TGC product. After that people will be glad to help, assist, or enable you to do other things in many more ways than they would do if you act like a noob trying to be someone he is not.

Please do not take any offense fromt this post. I am merely trying to help so you don't go down a path that some other members have gone on.
