Hi everybody i got DBpro a few days back and have since been re-programming my game. It is a Gta style game but is very basic for now. I will try to make it better and bring another better demo out in the future. Controls are in the download and heres a screen...

I tried it out. And it's great as a start!

Just a question though, if you shoot with the gun you in the back, it's like you drop something(Yellow)...
And sorry to say this, but I didn't understand a thing of what the guy said on the telephone... Probably just me. At least I understood the weapon dealer Let him rest in peace...

It's goin in the right way: driving, shooting ppl, weapons...

A very good start, but:

You can't turn when driving backwards
You have to walk into a car WHILE pressing Enter to really enter it
I can't hear what that guy in the phone is saying

Well, a long way to go, but it's a nice start.

I can't be fired... Slaves are SOLD!

ok thanks for the comments
i know the guy on the phone is a bit hard to understand but thats because my friend who did the voice wasnt loud enough and i used software to change the pitch of the voice. Im working on better entering of vehicles my code is like this

if object collsion(car,player)=1 and returnkey()=1
playerincar=1
endif

i'll try and improve on it for the next demo

Im working very hard at the moment to deliver a new demo with better car physics, shooting system, and better police AI. The next demo should be ready i hope, by the end of january 2006. At the moment i am spending like 6 hours a day working on it! So watch this thread for regular updates.

gamer2386, at the moment entering a vehicle is a bit dodgy. You need to walk upto the vehicle and still pressing the up key you must then press enter. To get out of the vehicle that you're in press control. I hope this helps.

About cars - use the y angle of player and create a lil sphere then put it at

RelPosX = sin(Player_y_angle) * 50
RelPosY = cos(Player_y_angle) * 50

then add the orig pos X and Y to the relative one - so the player has an sphere in front - if it contacts with an car let him enter

i have downloaded it and i must say, it is a GTA Clone like you say but the 'how to get into a car' still needs polishing. Beacuse creating a GTA Clone is big and a very good idea but when you go backwards it looks a bit funny. If you agree with me that's ok but it is the BEST and I mean the BEST GTA clone I have ever played, ever. oh and thanks for letting me help you. I have an idea to make Felony Rise seem like GTA: A Mission System that when you complete one, You unlock more ground in the game area. Think That is a good idea? If you do, thanks. Oh, and can you tell, me if you want me to help you code it even though i am quite rubbish at coding (Got DBPro on Xmas Eve) I can be of use with coding right or do you wanna do that?

I didn't download it, but a complete GTA clone would be boring. Make it different than GTA, but the same style. It would be stupid if it was the same exact thing. Good work though. Is this DBPro that your making it in?

I can create a SCM like command menu when u do the basics rite - like assigning id's to cars n stuff

I did some stuff too - but i allready started my own project now cuz u said u will mess around with the FPSC - which is ok to me

So simply contact me if u need a programmer, tester, w/e - or a guy who is speaking crapy english ^^

Right, answer time...

gamer2386: at the moment to get into a vehicle you have to walk upto it and without letting go of the upkey you press enter to go in. To get out of a vehicle you've just entered you must press control.

P.S yes i think your idea is good about unlocking new ground after completing missions, keep the ideas coming in

Xenocythe: I know Originality is important for a good game but i dont intend for it to be directly a GTA clone. It's going to be that style; missions, stealing cars, shooting, police which other games like True Crime, Driver and the getaway share. So this game is intended to be like that.

P.S yes, i did make it in Dark Basic Professional and its my first project as well with DBPro

TKsFox: Sounds good, but dont drop out of your projects on my account when you have time to spare then i would be more than pleased to have you workng as a programmer.

zzz: Yeah i found that the case also, why it happens is a mystery to me.

yeah the radio was done by a friend along with his awfull guitar playing i thought as a GTA style game it should have a radio station, for the next demo i shall improve on it (with better music) the reason why car collision is bad is because i set the collision off all the cars once your in a car to avoid accidently pressing enter when you come into contact with another car and thus having 2 cars driven at the same time. This will be improved on of course.

I think i m some "kinda back" - i really think we should have a im service or irc chat to swap data and ideas

also we should recode it - i developed sum nice stuff allready:

//Edit

forgot the car loader :$
its crapy - so we should do onfoot part first - then move to the car part...

Right, ok your code looks good so i'll take your advice about doing the on foot first. Maybe you can specialise in doing the on foot lot (since my demo of shooting was awful) and i can do the car physics and stuff.
