Theres always people asking for media for games and such, games that usually dont end up being finished but thats not the point. I understand that there is alot of great free media out there, but as a point of motivation I would like to point out th fact that part of what makes a good clean game is the style in which the objects music and sound are presented and blend together.

If you take a more cartoony model from WOW and stick it in as a knife replacement for Counter Strike your going to be able to tell that it doesnt fit. Same with music and other media.

Also definately with RTS's. The team colors and styles in an RTS game are what tells you which tank to shoot at. Sure you can recolor but if they dont match the styles (modelling and texturing) then its like having sideburns on a victorias secret model.(ie they both may be kick@ss, but they are in there own seperate ways )

What Im saying is that you should either make your own, or get one person (preferrably a team mate) to make the stuff for you. If you get all of your models from different sources theyre going to be built with different poly counts in mind, textured with different pallettes and look like 2 different people with 2 different styles made them.

Call this what you will but these are just my thoughts on the matter. Im not mad or upset just trying to get other peoples views on the point. Vocal tonation can be misread over the internet.

Ya know what I was thinking the exact same thing just recently.

I have just started to learn how to model to prevent such things from happening.
