hi,does anyone know of a free 3d modeling program where u can use vertex coloring to make cool landscapes & that exports to a .x file??

blender 3d is free and it exports to .x and you can make anything including cool landscapes but im not sure about the vertex colouring, but i would assume so seeing as blender is really powerful.

yea,i know about blender.but the exported .x files dont keep the vertex coloring.i might have to pay for a program that does this.i cant find one anywhere that does it free.

.x files only keeps shading data (I think) and texture image file link data. If you're thinking of vertex painting, where you paint directly onto the model, the program you use should be able to save as a texture. If thats the case, I don't know of any freebies, and those that do can be expensive for the cheapy old person, but theres a program (tattoo?) made in Blitz 3D which may be just the option for you, it has a price, but I don't think it is that much.
