Pneu you can write an RPG in 2months perhaps...
but can you write an MMORPG in 2months?
RPG's inherintly are simple games stand alone, as all you're doing is making a battle system, making a stats system, making an interaction system, throw in the storyline and you have the RPG done.
making an online game on the other hands is a different bag of nuts, because there is countless testing to check that netcode works, testing to check that the client->server system is doing its job, testing to make sure that the servers can handle the players... then ontop of that you're making the original game!
anything you make is twice the work mate, and it certainly isn't a simple task to accomplish

and for the competition without prizes, yeah i've entered some in my time ... oftenly the only prize being if you could call it a prize is being declared the winner.
it is a common practise within the art community and amature programming community to set challenges for people to complete which are competitions yet without any prize.
i mean take a look at the 20line Challenge - look at how many have actually done that, because people like to push themselves for nothing else but the fact that they can see how well they can do.
personally if it was a team compo and we picked out teams rather than random, i'd like to work with xtom again

Hotcars will probably always be the title i'm most proud to have helped with ... probably just because i had alot of fun with it. There wasn't really any pressure, and the first title i ever used trueSpace2 to develop game models for

and before i even really knew howto use it hehee - everything was just spline polygons exported as a single object because of textureing hehee, they were so crude ... but i'm still proud of the work i put in - and xtoms game itself was outstanding enough on its own
ahh happy memories eh mate (^_^)
which reminds me, i'm bored of programming - i found an old mag with a few cool models in it, gonna sit here and remake them. I'll send you the results
Tsu'va Oni Ni Jyuuko Fiori Sei Tau!
One block follows the suit ... the whole suit of blocks is the path ... what have you found?
