<Edit 12/11/06>

The original code I posted here was a joke, which would not harm your computer in any way. However, other code snippets further down in this thread CAN harm your computer. In order to prevent confusion as to what is a joke, and what isn't, I have removed my code snippet, and strongly recommend you do not run any other code in this thread.

I'm scared to run the code... Knowing how good at programming you are and having no idea what that DLL is I'm very afraid to run that code...

Oh oh. I ran the code! Don't run that code whatever you do. Now my computer exploded! Darn you Ric. How can I even post a message now telling you how evil and mean you are (well, besides the warning I mean)? You should be banned for posting such harmful code.

Outside of that, brings back memories of the old dos games.

*BOOOM!*
Ric!?! now my computer has died!

So you come here and say
Quote: " Warning - your pc will explode if you run this code."

And you expect people not to run it? How crazy is that?!?!?!?

But anyways.
Instresting. I didn't know that was in kernel32.

You could really teach software piracy a lesson with this.

"Warning: Your computer will explode if you try to copy this program. Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Self-Destruct engaged."

But in the time I did have my computer working I noticed that it was still making that noise without the speakers... kinda creepy. Oh well, time to buy a new one I guess

The internal speaker makes a very convincing noise, it should ask for a ransom to save the computer.
I made a VB program like this once.

IF YOUR COMPUTERS ARE EXPLODING... I expect fire, pain, AGGGOOONYY, and my favorite... death

so I ask a simple question...

How are you talking?

F.Y.I. If you respond to this it inheritly contridicts like 10 things here... Such as your still talking... Computer being use... etc.

If at first you dont succeed, LOWER YOUR STANDARDS.

I have come from an alternative universe to warn you all. DO NOT RUN THIS PROGRAM TWICE! My computer was heavily protected with the lastest protection software!

Play Video 1

I thought I was safe, and risked running it again! Foolish, foolish me...

Play Video 2

Luckily I was beamed from my planet by a powerful space fairing race (who oddly enough looked human, with a slightly pinker shade of skin). I am now doomed to forever roam every alternative universe out there, and go back to this day and time, for if another universe runs this program more than once then all of creation will explode!

Highly trained scientists demonstrate what will happen!

I lay upon my bed one bright clear night, and gazed upon the distant stars far above, then I thought... where the hell is my roof?

How could you run it twice? The computer would have exploded...

However, if you canceled it before it blew up like I did, that doesn't count.

Yep, he's not joking that code looks like it will format your hard drive.

If you say yes to the command prompt and your hard drive is drive C.

Diggsey - I strongly recommend you get rid of that post before the mod squad see it ... there are enough naive people here who will try and run that code just to see what happens.

Well, first of all. DO NOT RUN ANY OF THE CODES HEREEE! DO NOT BE FOOLISH, THEY ARE SAYING THE TRUTH. I won't try it, but I'll think I save the code just as a warning, but I am afraid that if I save it someone day I forgot what it is and I execute it. Yes, really with this you can give a lesson to cracker, virus makers, and internet pirates.
If you ever wonder, the computer has a internal own speaker to emit just simple sounds, that a computer techinicer can understand to know the computer problem. I know it because on an old computer I worked a long time ago when mine was another house, I remember how the old computer sometimes crashed and then when it was at the DOS black screen(I used Windows Miillenium), I pressed keys to turn it off and then after a while it started to emit noises and I notices they were inside the computer. Maybe I'll try the code on that old or in a computer that do is in its last days but that is so cruel. AND I REPEAT:

DO NOT RUN ANY OF THE CODES HERE. DO NOT ME FOOLS. DO NOT LET THE CURIOUS FEELING CATCH YOU. PLEASE, DOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOT RUUUUUUUUN ANYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY OOOOOOOOOOF THEEEEEEEEEEEEEE COOOOOOOOOOOOODEEEEEEEEEEEEEES HEEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I wish everyone learned the lesson. I feel sorry for you. Please make me the favor to delete this post to prevent any more people suffer this. It is not all the fault of the poster of the code of this problems. The only thing was maybe some of you thinked it was a joke like from the many sites in Internet and tried it out to "see what happens". I recommend the next time someone posts another like this one, PLEASE SAY REALLY ITS NOT A JOKE AND BETTER I RECOMMEND TO ONLY SAY YOU KNOW IT BUT DON'T POST IT, AND TELL PEOPLE IF THEY WANT YOU TO MAIL THEM IT, IT SHOULD BE THEIR ALL RESPONSIBILITY, to prevent this.

May God be with you.

PS: I only want to know if all this code (the original) was true.

Have a nice day

Diggsey, first of all, you were stupid enough to actually post the code. Second, after you decided to post the code, you made it so that the user would have to type a "y" then press enter at the prompt

Lol, I'm tempted to edit it and post the code, but I would be afraid that some idiot would actually run the code. I advise you to remove it Diggsey.

Ok, I can't stand bugs, so I'm only going to repost the buggy part. Here it is:

That should work, it now won't even give the user a prompt.
EXTREME WARNING: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY ANYONE WHO USES THIS CODE IN CUNJUNCTION WITH DIGGSEY'S CODE. FURTHER MORE, I PROMISE THAT YOUR C: DRIVE (ASSUMING IT EXISTS) WOULD BE FORMATTED. THIS MEANS YOU WILL LOSE EVERYHTING CURRENTLY ON IT.

<EDITED>
What, you mean you tried it?!?! lol, j/k.
Actually, I've been playing around with the beep function, and decided to scare my cousin, so I made it look like she initiated the destruction of my computer by releasing a virus... ahhh, good times

Anyways, I finally found what each parameter is used for (frequency, duration). So I can finally do stuff with it properly

Don't worry, this (as far as I know) is NOT dangerous *eyes Diggsey*. Lol, enjoy!

Lol, I really like these kind of programs. Not the ones that delete data but the ones that make your computer act up. Can be just as much fun giving one of those to someone who pisses you off as the real thing.

It would appear I've been bitten by the coding bug yet again...
