Map Edit
Tile based map editor
MapEdit (imaginativley titled, I know), can do the following:
General:
-Create, Save and Load map files in its own native format
-Load tilesets (Currently Bitmap only though)
-Assign a collision property to each tile
-Fill Mode
-Grid Mode (helps for drawing)
Can export map to Jpeg, Bitmap etc
Map:
-Maps have four layers, allowing for overlap of tiles
-They can be rather large (Most Iv got is about 150*150 before it crashes)
-Tiles have transparent pixels undrawn.
MapEdit (name change!) is intended to be used with a 2DEngine I am developing, which supports scripts, A* pathfinding, loading maps and some other things I cant remember/haven't done yet. The coding is slow so it may be while before you may actually be able to use maps with anything else. There are still some annoying bugs in the program, but when I get rid of them and clean it up, I'll release a BETA with source. The prog uses Blue and DBPro.
Screenies:
Proggy in action, on startup
Editing a tiles properties
A woody map
Drawing just layer 2
Edit: With regards to the title of the thread, I
can actually spell
its my new rat tail dog!
