This is used for saving and loading data in games, like the player's health, or the object's position.

Example code (With REM Statements to help you understand):

3D Example Code (Also with REMS) :

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The directions are in the program.

If you can't find the file you saved, it's probably because you haven't created a project for it and its saving everything to the DBPro 'Temp' folder.

Oh yeah (sorry for the double post), I'll be working on saving multiple values to one line and reading them.

If you want some advice to make it better

Its not commented so its not really geared for new newcomers.
It doesn't mention if it works for dBC and DBP which also makes it ambiguous.
It doesnt cover variables or floats, just strings.

spend more time describing each component and it might target your audience better.
you cant expect 24 hours as well for replies from everyone, it takes a little while.

not a very good example in my honest opinion, you could improve it.

Yeah, I guess your right. It's just that it dropped about 10 topics in 24 hours, so I knew no one would see it.

I'll improve it.

P.S. I showed how to save a '#' variable too

I'm sure there are many newbies that have looked at it but didn't say anything.

very nice little example there. The camera doesn't follow the character, however. As one pressed the up arrow, the character box moves off into the distance. Newcomers might also appreciate some collision, since the character box simply moves through the others on the screen. Good start for someone needing the basics!!
