There is not much to go into because I don't really get any helpful error codes except for map-editor.exe has encountered a serious problem and must close the app. Then, the app freezes when I press don't send and then a dialog box comes up saying error debug info 0,0 something like that. (going from memory)

I tried a fresh install again on another machine and got a different result. This time the app will work except for when I go to build an .exe. The app freezes on initialising entities and has to be shutdown from the processes menu.

My suggestion is to stop packaging code changes with the model packs. Model packs should contain models only unless the models being used (animations) require the game engine to be changed.

If you could please post the order/instructions to install fpsc using v1 all the way to the most recent update including all model packs. Thank you.

That one has most likely nothing to with the update. It's a common error which a lot of the times can be solved by correcting a mistake you've made in your level.

Do a search on the forum about this error and you may find the solution to it.

@Lee- can you add a user editable fog system? Many of us would love to be able to add thick fog to our levels, but at this point all you can do is turn it on via a script, change color and turn it off. It would be nice to be able to add volume to the fog.

When you download V1.04RC1 and install it - keep the original down loaded .exe somewhere safe then if you install any modelpack and it messes up your installation all you should need do is simply manually replace any .exe a model pack installs with the downloaded V1.04RC1 .exe again and FPSC should work fine - it does with me and thats all I need do.

That should get you over any immediate problems installing model packs after V1.04RC1 until the isusue is resolved by TGC.

@Uman - I did what you said and installed everything and then copied/pasted the update .exe in the fpsc folder and the program ran great. However, I did get the following errors when building a project. The screen loads and the first thing that pops up is the main menu...at the bottom of in black letters reads "Send request failed. Error Code 12152." If I continue and choose host game it trys to connect and then it loads about 95% and stops. A window pops up giving the following error: "Runtime error 302 - Sprite does not exist at line 4602." These kinds of messages only appear when I place a weapon from weapon pack 5 as if it doesn't recognize the animations. If I leave out the weapons from pack 5 it builds successfully and I can play multi-player.

Well I reinstalled my system yesterday and now I want to reinstall FPSCreator. I Installed FPSC V1, then I installed all model pack, finally installed Updtes (1.02, 1.04). But When I started FPSC a general Windows error dialog appeared told me that FPSC had a problem and will close.

Can anybody tell me the correct installation order for model packs and update packs?

Other:
Where is the final 1.03 update? Or this 1.04 update is the newest version for 1.03?

Thanks for all help:

drew4663,

Sorry I dont use MP these days and had not tried it with any of the weapons from the latest model packs.

MP is an area that I dont think Lee is concentrating on at the moment but I may be wrong. FPSC still has a long development future ahead I guess and MP will get some attention I presume.

Captain Kirk,

V1.04RC1 is the latest version I believe. I must admit I am not using the download from the forum but a version Lee sent me to test before it was released here but I presume mine is the same. I have not had any problems with it myself - though I have only concentrated mainly looking at speed issues.
