Could someone please make me a model to use as the weapon for this open source engine (as placeholder media to show them how to setup their own):

http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=76403&b=8

What I need is a gun. It can be any size, shape, or rotation as long as it is some type of FPS weapon. Prefferrably low poly (1200 or less). I need a shooting and reloading animation in the model. This can be as simple or complex as you like. It really doesn't matter as I just want to show how to play them at the right time. The shooting could be the gun kicking back or a bolt on the side moving. The reloading could be just dropping down a bit and then back up. I also would need a limb a couple of units past the tip of the gun barrel labeled "flash" or such that I can use to position the muzzle flash. I am really not picky at all as far as looks. If anyone would be interested in just animating a .x model and adding the flash limb, I have several I can send you. Any help is greatly appreciated as I am trying to wrap up the last of the features in this engine.

Thank you

Thank you for the reply

Depends on the quality of the model. I don't mind paying proportional to model quality. I wouldn't pay a fortune or anything since Rick said I could use a FPSC weapon, but would rather have a custom one so I don't have to add the flash limb. And it doesn't need to be textured (though it would be nice) as I said it's just a placeholder. The soul purpose of this model is to show anyone using the open source engine how to setup the animations and flash limb in their models. Anyone interested could email me if they want to make a model good enough to be paid for and we'll make arrangements.

I didn't take it as being rude. It was a valid question. I really thought I had put that in my original post, but on re-reading it I seen I left it out. It was quite late here when I posted this thread. In any case if someone makes a free one I'll give you a donation if your site has such a feature. I would be greatful either way

Also if anyone has the time to just add the animations to an existing model I have plenty that I can send you one of.

I will also be including and application to orient, set the flash point and size, scale, set animation points with code, and so on with DarkMatter and other non-animated models with the engine. I just wanted to also add functionality for animated models

If you'd like, you can use this XM8 gun model I made. It's textured, and it's 1220 triangles (Not sure how exactly that translates into polies... divide by 2? ). It has a simple shooting animation and a reloading animation as well. I've included a zip with the model and texture, and a small program to display the model. Use mouse to rotate model. It shows the shooting animation or press space to see reload animation. Anyways, feel free to use it if you'd like!

Thanks man, that is perfect. I can add the flash limb with code since they will have the application to place and size it

[edit] One triangle is one poly in DBP, since it doesn't really support quads. That is close enough to 1200 though

If you every need any help coding let me know.

Glad you could use it! Actually yeah, a copy would be pretty sweet .

Also, I realized in looking back on it, I think I may have got the animation frame numbers off a little (the shooting animation is a bit jerky at the end), try tweaking the start/end number by 5 if it's bugging you.
