After many months discussion between TGC and the Moderators it is with a heavy heart that I reproduce the following email sent to me by Lee:

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Having set up The Game Creators in 1999 we've created many products; Dark Basic, FPS Creator, 3D Game Maker, Realm Crafter and more recently Leadwerks Game Engine. As you know we don't have a big team and the more products we produce, the more we have to work to keep on top of them, so it is with a heavy heart that I must personally stop further production of FPS Creator. FPSC will still continue but I must step down as other (new) products take up my time.

I thank everyone for their time and patience and the wonderful response we've had from the forums and rest assured, The Game Creators will continue to produce ground breaking software with the easy of use that you've all come to love.

Lee.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

A sad day indeed.

Jeez, that kinda sucks...we were all looking forward to this 'migration'. I don't really blame him, though. He (and the rest of the team) have a lot on their plates, and FPSC has come a long way. I suppose we'll have to do the migration ourselves, which would be just as cool...

This isn't an April Fool, is it?

What!?!?!? so does this mean that the promised and anticipated migration(been promised for over a year) is not happening, obviously Lee does not see the motivation in fpsc if did the migration i honestly have to say it would be one of the best engines because of how easy it is.

Tomorrow's April Fools, so I'm only hoping he's joking.

That'd be cool if on April Fools he came back and was like "JUST KIDDING!" and released this amazing re-work of FPSC. Haha.

Well that was a bit of a shock. I wouldn't say this is a joke, due to the poster being who he is and very poor if it was.

I guess it was too hard to get to the next level being x9/x10 joined features.
A couple of Q's Nickydude, that you may have better answers too, rather than me wondering.

Fpsc x9 - 1.15 version - the final update to be made?
Fpsc Migration - No longer being made, correct?
Fpsc store is closed off/down? or still active?
Fpsc 1.15 source going to be released?
Fpsc model packs no longer planned, even if artists are not from tgc?

If yourself or Lee wishes to coment further, thanks.

Yeah same here especially since the migration was so anticipated and everyone was waiting for it.

By the way if it is a joke its kinda mean the only reason i would think its a joke is because this was posted at like 9:00 eastern and Lee lives in Europe so why would this be posted so late?

If it is true, rest assured that most modders will do their best to continue production of FPSC. The development, even now, still continues. And we must try extra hard.
Lee, newest source please? Last thing for FPSC you can do for a while. Please?

I don't think it is to be completely honest, because If I remember
correctly, there was a similar announcement concerning "charging" for model packs and FPSC Upgrades because of "Strain" on TGC's cashflow (Last year). This also turned out to be a april fool. Also, you have to ask yourself, If they had been in "Months of discussion" with the MODS, why didn't any of the Mods shed the smallest amount of light on the matter for us. As well as this, I looked through the previously released Newsletters, and it's obvious that if this really was the case stated, Lee wouldn't of talked about the migration so eagerly and so recently (expecially in the X10 board). When all Is said and done, Im sure it's a well crafted april fools joke.

Yeah, I have to agree.

Reading comments from people who I have talked to beyond these forums, are saying it's a hoax. I believe them. Yet still no that sure what to make of this though, keen to see the outcome.
Hmm... the migration is having a new name, like Dark FPS.

Do you seriously believe Lee will be leaving behind TGC's flagship product. The best FPS game engine around.

I don't think so. Lee is fully aware of FPSC's importance.

As far as I know The Game Creators and Lee haven't made this
public as yet because there is more discussion going on. I
really don't know whether I should shared this with you as
i have not had the official word from either The Game Creators or
Lee.

For what it's worth I suspect The Game Creators can
only get better. Perhaps more programmers should be hired
or perhaps they can creat some kind of modulated version. I'll
let you know if I hear more.

Does this mean FPSC is going to end??? {I hope not because there is NO other fps creator that is drag and drop and as easy as FPSC.

May I ask something? Have anyone actually read the newsletter?
Lee (I guess) talks a lot about the future development of FPSC. It doesn't really sound like they are going to "kill" FPSC

But IF it's true, then thats kind of sad. Really sad.
