@Stoopid: Thanks.

@Locrian: Hey, that's certainly not downing my work, that's the best advice I've heard for long! I've never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it, I see it myself too. I'll take care of those issues immedeatly and take that into account for my future textures. Thanks a lot for the advice.

Hi, I really love your stuff. Im looking foreward to your mod pack coming out. Its going to be very handy. I have a request for a segment. Could you do a snowy/muddy road segment and also a regular road? Is it possible, if you could then that would be really fantastic!

PS, also, if you can, see if you can do other different kinds of terrain for segments, that would be awesome!

Thanks.

@Patrick: Thanks for the feedback.
Sure thing, I'll give it a try, thanks for the suggestions.

@Rebourn: Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

Now for an update; I've been out working for a bit the recentmost days, gonna work today too, but tomorrow I'll have time to do some more stuff.
I took Loc's advice and have now edited some textures to scale down bumps and/or holes to a more realistic size, so everything looks much better now. Thanks again, Loc.

Another update with some new visuals to show off, here's some of the most recent stuff:

This is another decorational item, a fuel tank. I'm quite satisfied with the texture, a combination of both photo resource and from-scratch-texturing, mostly photographical as you might see. I might make a smaller variation with a slightly different hue.

Excuse the crappy lighting quality, I was running it through quick lm'ing. Anyhow, this is the staircase/ladder-fusion thing segment. It's gone through a few revisions, the screens of the next-most recent one. It works pretty much flawlessly now, took some time to adjust it and all. ^^

I decided that I will release the pack with two installers, one for the basic meshes and textures and one for the segment-normal maps, since the shaders tend to be a bit messy at times when it comes to the segment normals. So you can choose to go without shaders of course, or with only shaders on entities, or go all the way with all shaders for all assets.

Price for the pack has been pretty much decided too, I'm leaning towards an almost certain fee at 10,95 USD, which I feel is pretty decent. Any opinions regarding this are welcome, though.
I might also release an alternate outside-of-FPSC version of the pack, with only the room textures for the same price. So basically, you get more out of the pack if you own FPSC.
Either that or I might release the alternate version with all entities as well, but for a little bit higher price.

That's all for now, feedback, criticism, comments are all welcome as always.

@phil17: Thanks man.
And yeah, I've sorted the scaling issues on all textures that needed adjustment, so they look much better now.

@LOTTS: I'm not certain on how to distribute the pack yet, it depends on the size of it, but I know for sure that I'll accept PayPal.

@Robert: Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

Well, looks like ye olde swedish rain has returned again after a short period of sunny days, so I'll have plenty of time to work on this today. Look out for possible eye-candy coming up later today.

Dude, this pack looks awsome, If I get enough money I'll buy it for sure. This is going to be perfect for horror games. And I also have some suggestions for some segmemts and entities if you would like some.
SEGMENTS:
You should make some rooms with brick walls that look cracked and damaged, and some with wallpaper peeling off, and maybe some that don't have any paint, just the wood, like the room was in construction or something, and put a couple holes in the wall.
ENTITIES: If you can, make an overlay or something of a chalk outline, you know, in the shape of a body, for crime scene things and stuff like that. And maybe a corpse or two of some dead people that can fit in with the chalk lines. And an abandoned library sounds like a good idea for a level, I haven't seen any bookshelves or anything that would be in a library around. You should make some grungy bookshelves that look damaged or old, maybe a segment to go along with the room, unless you've already made one for something like that.
Well that's all I got for now, WHAT DO YOU THINK.

Hi Roger, it's Troy again, it's only been about a half hour since my last post but I just got inspired with some more ideas and suggestions if you want them.
You should make some grungy school stuff.
SEGMENTS/ROOMS: A grungy school hall segment, some grungy classroom segments, grungy theater room segment, a grungy library segment like I said earlier, a grungy cafeteria/kitchen, a grungy gym segment, and what ever other rooms there are in schools.
But if you don't want to do any of these, or just not do some of 'em, alrighty then.
Now some ENTITIE ideas that could go in the rooms.
SCHOOL HALL: Maybe a few signs and banners that look partly torn up or are peeling off the walls, there are already lockers in the entity library in FPSC so, unless you want to make some newer ones, you probably shouldn't worry about those.
CLASSROOMS: Put some regular desks, desks with scratched messages such as: 'HELP US,' 'GET OUT,' 'SCHOOL KILLS,' and stuff like that, maybe some opened up desks with some stuff inside it, maybe a notebook with a message in it. Also, the long teachers desk, a chalkboard, and a chalkboard with a message in chalk or in blood or something.
THEATER: This is very simple, all you need are some padded red chairs, the stage can just be made with some wood floor and stairs as segments.
LIBRARY: I already gave library ideas in my last post.
CAFETERIA/KITCHEN: For the cafeteria you just need some of those long tables with the bench built into it, some banners on the walls like in the SCHOOL HALLS and a few booths or whatever where they would pick up their food. For the kitchen you just need some counters, possibly bloody, some meat cleavers laying around, pots and pans hanging from a ceiling rack, an oven, refrigerator, shelves, a sink, and maybe a couple cabinets.
GYMNASIUM: You just need the wood segments and customize it to look like a B-Ball court, and some basket ball racks with basket balls in them, basket balls laying around (some flat balls with holes in them might be a good idea, the bleachers, the score board, some banners like in CAFETERIA and the SCHOOL HALL, and the basket ball hoops.
Then whatever else you think should be in there.
Also, for HOSPITAL levels, make some of those metal roller beds with blood on them, and some other stuff if you can.
I cannot wait until this is released, I just found out about it today but I'm itching like crazy to get it.
P.S. Is this model pack for all versions, or will it only be for X10, because I can't get X10, but I really need this stuff.
P.S.S. Any updates on a price range and release date yet.
And again, if you don't make what I've suggested, I won't mind, I'll still definantly buy it if it isn't only for X10. To me, this model pack of yours is a must have. AWSOME JOB DUDE.

Heh, that's some quite extensive line of suggestions. Thanks a lot Troy, you've inspired me to do some cool stuff. Thanks for the positive feedback too.

I might take some of those ideas to use, except for the school stuff, since that almost calls for an entirely new pack, and I want this to get released around next month. As for the price, I suggested 10,95 USD for a price, which I hope is reasonable.
Anyhow, the book-shelf and overlay-ideas were very inspirational, I might extend the shelf-idea to the double with some large, messy filing cabinets to go with the hospital segment.
Thanks for turning up my motivation a notch, much appreciated.

You're welcome Roger, that is a very reasonable price, I cannot wait to buy this pack, it's like I said earlier, this grunge pack is a must have for me. That's fine that you aren't doing the school stuff, it was alot to ask for so, it's understandable. So, you said you're gonna do the book-shelves, if that's true than thanks, I could use those alot. Besides, I saw a thing called 'School Daze' on FpsFree.com that I could use to get the entities and some segments that I would need. So, thank you for listening to my suggestions, I don't really have any more ideas, considering I gave so many in my last two posts. The pack looks great and you can bet that I will buy it as soon as I can once you release it. I'll probably have to send the cash by mail if that's alright, if not than tell me how I'm supposed to pay for it. The pack looks awsome, I've seen many model packs users have made, but yours by far is the best I've seen. Can't wait for it.
P.S. Again, is this pack only working with X10, I can't get your pack if that's the case because of my computer, so could you answer that for me? THANKS. Looks awsome.

Thanks again, Troy, I appreciate the feedback.

As for payment, I'm going to handle it through PayPal, since it's the easiest way to distribute packs through the net. As for sending money through regular mail, I don't know. It's a bit too risky for both sides.

This pack will be available for X9 and X10, with the X10-optimized version coming as soon as possible. This first version however is optimized for use in X9.

Huh? Wait, are you thinking about Model pack 9 and 10? Because that's not what I meant, X9 and X10 refers to the DirectX 9 and 10 versions of the FPS Creator-engine. Yes, as far as I know, there should be no conflicts with other model packs, so you can combine elements from this and MP5.

Sorry about the lack of updates, I've been rather busy the last few days with my new computer and preparing for moving and all. School starts on monday too, so there might be a little delay on the model pack. I've made a new decoration entity that I'll try to take time and get screenshots of later this weekend. It's a large file-cabinet that'll come with some texture variations, and maybe even one with a busted-open drawer. Oh, and scattered paper overlays to go with it, of course.

Sure thing, haven't got much to say right now though, unfortunately. School's taking up a lot of my time, it's all new to me, almost. I'm living away from home during the weeks, got a cozy room at a hostel (with my own shower, though, hooray!) just one and a half mile away from school, where I'm studying game development. Most free time these last three weeks I've devoted to hanging out with my new classmates and playing Bioshock, which I got for a bribe sort of to force me to participate in gym class.

Bah, enough stories from my life. Pack might be delayed for a bit, but I'll try to get some work done for it next week though. Expect screens before next sunday, folks.

Very nice work! I would suggest as adding some of your grunge wall segments as "fake" or destoyable wall entites as well. That always adds some nice game play options.

Keep up the good work!

Hey guys! Sorry for the immense delay, school has had me occupied from tip to toe... Even during winter break, I had both school work and work to do.

I'd just like to announce that I'm going to post a few screenies over the next few days of the newest stuff, and also mention that I've gotten some shader-effects to work pretty nicely with some entities, so expect some screenies of that too soon.

So, I'm pretty much done with the pack, will add in a few boxes to fill up the entity-folder as it only contains two variations yet, and I will also adjust material-settings for all the things and set up a seperate shader-map addon installer for those who want them. By default, the pack'll be installed without shader-maps, since they don't work that great in FPSC yet, only the entity-shaders.

Anyhow, the things in the pack are so far (and pretty much final);
15 room segments, some with custom meshes
9 ceiling segments
Curved segment corner pieces for 7 of the rooms
Cylinder-pillar pieces for 14 of the rooms
2 custom, animated doors (working on getting the meshes to work right, so they might be excluded :/)
2 "External" segments for use in outside areas
Snowy-grass exterior segments, with mud-path variations with corners and crossings!
Flat corner pieces for 12 of the rooms
8 "open wall"-segments, square archways (might be replaced with square-CSG cutter segment, for more wide use)
Square pillar pieces for 8 of the rooms
One rusty metal ladder/steep staircase
Tilted ceiling variations for all ceilings
Tilted floor variations for 12 of the rooms

And for the entities;
A barrel with three different texture variations, all with accompanying normal map
A bar-table, with wood and metal texture variations. With n-map.
Two boxes of different types, number to be multiplied. Has n-maps.
A candle-entity, perfect for cozy settings
A fuel-tank (previously screenshoted) with two size/texture vars. With n-map.
An "industrial tank" entity, for use in those industrial outside areas! With n-map
A waste-container entity, with n-map
A die entity. You know, those you gamble with.
A wad of dollars, screenshot attached.
Various blood-overlays and fake fog overlays
A laundry-basket with two texture vars. And n-maps.
A machine-cog thing. Random, made-up item. With n-map.
A round ceiling lamp with two texture vars. Illumination-mapped.
A static security camera, slightly inspired by Portal. With n-map
A typical restaurant soda-mug, with three types of beverages (texture vars.)
A deadly-looking sharp spike, with bloody version. Might be excluded, as origin of texture is unknown (bad memory)
A wide-screen display with two size and texture versions. Comes with illumi-map
And last, a wooden board with two texture-vars.

That's it, I hope 12 dollars or so sounds fair for it all. More screenies to arrive soon, as mentioned. In the mean-time, check out the new wad o' dollars-entity attached to this post.
(Segments from model pack 5, though, courtesy of Jon Fletcher if I'm not mistaken)

Comments and crits welcome as always, and apologies to all who have been waiting. I swear, it's not far from release now!

New model looks nice!
Texture even better!

What i think is better to do for this model is!...

Make the 2 sides somewhat bigger so it looks like the money is put together with maybe some elastics.

That way it looks more "grungy"....cause it isnt really sorted out..
And now it looks like it was sorted out.

Anyway love to see more.

Okay, cool. A little late now, but hope the finals went well.

And now, MAJOR TEASER-UPDATE!
I've upped a few screenies to photobucket today of ingame (or in-FPSC), shader-mapped entities from the pack. I recently found out that using the bumpcubereflectalpha can accomplish way better effects than the bumpent-shader, IMO. It reflects light in a cool way and it enhances the look of the objects slightly.
Less talk, more rock, here's the pics!

I'm real eager to release the pack now, but there's a few issues to be sorted still. But as soon as that's done, I'm gonna add in maybe two more entities, then release it. Some of the excluded stuff from the pack might be released as free stuff sometime, if I can get it to work properly.

Phew, I'm glad to have that done. Right now, the time is 3:37. In the morning, that is. I'm drugged with two cups of steaming coffee, and it has me feel very weird and ill sort of. I hope I can still get some sleep after all this caffeine. If not, I've learned my lesson. Don't drink coffee right before bed-time. Good things it's week-end now, or I'd be screwed. XD

Anyhow, back on topic; would very much appreciate more comments and crits on my stuff.

Thanks, gunn3r! And dang, you're right. I must've had a momentary loss of inglish, lol.

@Inspire: Yes, unfortunately. If set to static mode, I'm presented with either a completly disappeared model or with the infamous black and white squares and circles along the edges.
I'll try and contact Lee about it, though. He should be the one to know if it can be fixed.

Yes, everything showcased here is X9-stuff, since I don't have Vista to use X10 yet. And thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
