@DieRider: Great! I can't wait to see it.
Since I have the weekend to "work" now, I will have time to finish up everything I wanted to accomplish on this release of v20. So subsequent downloads of Phoenix will have all the media packs made by Seth Black, Underside, Nickydude, myself and DieRider.
Let me also take this space to announce 2 things, well not really announce but more like tease:
Phoenix sponsored contest coming up soon. Details are not finalized, but I can tell you that
part of the Grand Prize will be £50 ($100), a copy of Phoenix Custom Edition and a high-end graphics card.
The term of the contest will be a minimum of 60 days to create a 2 or 3 mini-game. The mini-Game theme will not be restricted to a particular genre. The restrictions will be few and mainly be structural. For example, I liked the nVidia contest restriction of a level being 15x15x5. I would use this restriction also. It's not just for level optimization, but it makes you think of how to get the most of a smaller piece of game space.
I will make the official announcement on this soon because I want to be able to announce the winner(s) by 1 December 2007.
Phoenix v2.0 (NT: New Technology) under development. The new technology, will give you complete run-time protection of your media without ANY OS based, file based or application based roadblocks placed on the end-user.
In other words, you'll get
complete protection of your game media without imposing
any restrictions on your customer.
