I think it's awesome that the Mods and Rick got involved. Kudos to you guys. Good to know you're looking out for the community and not just looking for dirty words to delete.

There was a post for a new directional lighting system for FPSC. Maybe you could request a copy from the author or see if you could Beta test for him. He may let you try it for free considering your troubles and the good will it might generate for him. Just a thought.

Quote: "Just to let people know that this issue has been discussed at length amongst the Mods here. It appears that Rick actually talked to Butters on the phone the other day about this, and Butters is in the process of moving. He says he won't have access to internet till "Mid-July", at which time he hopes to sort things out.

I'm not saying I'm happy with that response, I'm just passing along a little knowledge on the subject.

Good on you Keith(and the rest of the mods) for doing something.

I do however hope that everyone gets what they ordered and Butters never returns.

Wow.

That's a dumb comment. You hope he never returns? Now that's team spirit.

No, LYTE:FX does the rays of light, like you would see when light pours into a dusty room.

It is properly done in terms of the editor preview that Lytefx generates but in the end it can be achieved with decals, too. I strongly recommend that you try to build some rays with a decal prior to throwing your money in a dark hole.....

I am Jacks complete lack of surprise.

Hello.

I can only say that I'm very sorry to people that haven't recieved their orders.

Since May I have been without an internet connection of my own, and also in the process of moving house. This lack of connectivity to the net meant that I missed my payment for my webpage, and I'm still in the process of trying to get a hold of peanutbutterfingers.co.uk again (I currently can't make any changes).

All I can say is that I'm genuinely shamed that I've let so many people down. Actually showing my "face" around here again I feel apprehensive about the response. BT are installing my internet on the 8th of July, so I'll be back online then.

If you are waiting for an order, and would still like it, then hold tight, you'll have it by July 10th. If you aren't satisfied or you have no confidence that I'll send it, then please claim back against my paypal.

Again, I'm very sorry that this has happened, and that I've fallen from grace on this forum.

Best
John.

Great to see you back Butters, I have every confidence in you that you'll supply everyone with the product at last.

Good job on actually replying as well - many other people wouldn't have the guts to come and apologise to the community, but you have, and that's earned my respect.

Earned mine as well.

I mentioned earlier that I can wait even longer if I have to. I was just a little annoyed at no communication, but it happens. No big deal. Sorry about the frustration, Butters.

It's great to face up to responsibilities.
But you could have communicated if you wanted to.
I've gone through a number of life events recently.
Including births, deaths, moves, etc. But I still
kept to my commitments, and communicated when I could
not. There's always wifi at Starbucks, or an open
PC at a library.

You'd have to come up with something pretty incredible
to get my business right now. But I do wish you luck
and hope you can again be a regular contributor to this
community.

I partially agree with Uthink, but just a message on your site or even these forums would have helped immensly.

It's highly commendable that you returned to explain the situation... but I also agree with uthink... I find it hard to believe that in 6 months 10 minutes couldn't be found to post some information on your website explaining your absence...

Glad to see you're back, Butters. I have a suggestion, though: Maybe with future products you can use Payloadz so that people can get their stuff without waiting for your approval? It would help immensely.

He shouldn't worry about coding the lights with serial numbers when he could probably tell who is legally using his product by playing their announced games.

Yeah but you have to understand... not everybody's the same. I personally wouldn't drive anywhere just to use the internet, gas is just to much now days... and where I live im not going to walk 10 miles just to use the internet either.

Some people have different feelings about loved ones than you may have. Some people may get over deaths quick, some not. Some will never get over it.

But anyways... Welcome back Butters.

Didn't mean to say that anyone has to live up to my standards. However there's always an excuse to not follow-up on responsibilities. Even if I buy the not driving to use the internet. Are you saying you haven't been near internet access in 5 months? The difference here is that we're talking about conducting business. Money is involved. That encompasses legal obligations. I think the moral standard is also higher in this case than the average web crawler.

I'm not posting to beat up on anyone. I just know that if this were a less popular person, there would be vigilante group here rather than the current lovefest. I've said my peace in this thread.

But you would if someone had paid you money for something in return, wouldn't you? I would hope so.

It's nice to see that this will be resolved soon in any case.

I've driven 40 miles to get to a high-speed site (University), just to send off that WWII Pack I've sold...they were having trouble downloading it, after purchase.

Any profit I made from that sale was eaten up in gas costs, but I did it because I believe customer service is important.

The sky.

Nah, i've mainly just been busy with work, and the prospect of a big job change, and also a lot of web dev time has gone into site which is in my sig, so meddling with FPSC has been one of the things at the foot of the list at the moment, but in a few weeks I might get back into the swing of things.

I can't believe I bought X10 and haven't even used it seriously yet.

And what's a life anyways, we're aspiring game-devs, we don't need any.
