Submit your final entry here by July 6th.

Please try to keep this thread clean so that the first posts are only screen shots of the entrants model(makes it easier when voting comes around).

Any forum user may vote exactly once by saying "I vote for____'s" entry. You cannot vote for yourself.

Good luck

Unfortunately I can't put much more time into this, so I'm going to leave my entry unfinished - personally I don't like it, but it gives me some practice now that I'm getting back into 3D modelling.

Outside? I didn't show that because I'm ashamed of it. Unfortunately I haven't got the time to fix my entry. I think next time I try something like this I'll keep it segmented - so it because easier to UVMap and it'll be easier to work with - as it got quite fiddly after a while.

Anyway...if you insist here's one crappy looking exterior.

Yes, overally model quality isn't necessarily what get the votes, but concept, effort, improvement etc. also come in to play, so don't worry about it (even if you don't win, at least you modelled and textured your project, finishing something has its value (as does the process))

What can I say, mine might as well be a brick.

I'm torn between Jasiek and Dark Coder.........

I guess I'll go with Jasiek. It screams Capital Ship!!

@Dark Coder, let me know if you're willing to sell a license for that ship.

@Neodelito, Love the design. At first glance the design and paint job made me think of the Reavers from Firefly/Serenity. I can almost see some influence in the design from some of the ships on Babylon 5 too. Nice work.

@All, all the ships are very cool. It makes me realize that I have no modeling skills at the moment. Which is ok, I'm a programmer. I like dabbling with modeling but I have a long way to go to get anywhere near this level.

All of you made such amazing designs.... It is so hard to choose

At first I was going to vote for dark coder, because his model was amazing (same with everyone else) I was also thinking about voting for Neodelito because he had amazing textures and an amazing model, but it just seemes more like a smaller ship....But then when I saw lazerus's model, I really liked the buildings because it really showed how big it was.

I am going to have to vote

lazarus

Great Job everyone!!

I vote for Jasiek, I really like the top-side of his ship, it's quite fitting with most of my designs .

It does? I've actually modelled that ship too a while ago(wasn't it for a modelling compo here?), I don't think they look remotely close.

Well I just got it back in mind after seeing your ship. Maybe the overall layout(shape) is kinda close.

Well, gentlemen unless I miscounted, we have a tie! This is the first time this has ever happened in a 3D competition. It's up to Jasiek and Dark Coder to agree upon a competition, otherwise I will pick one after three or four days. Simply fantastic, great job to everyone who made this competition a blast!

Jasiek 8
Dark Coder 8

Neodelito 4
Lazerus 2
Sepp 1

A draw eh, well I was going to suggest a teapot contest if I won, because teapots are the coolest Direct3D mesh. Or maybe a primitive compo, where you must make the best model you can using only primitives(spheres,rectangles,cones/pyramids,cylinders,tubes,tori etc), no use of boolean/CSG, extrusion, moving of verts(but scale, position, rotation is fine) or any other modifiers that would otherwise change the mesh to not become a primitive. But I don't mind whatever gets chosen, I mainly entered so I had an excuse to make the ship.

Cheers, but it was one that lacked the right execution or dedication, everybody else worked harder on their models and got out great results.

Congrats to the drawing winners.

note dark C. the primitive idea would be great but you would have to go through everything with a fine toothed comb to check for any 'WISHAPs'

Omg, an ex-equo. Awesome

I was thinking of a architecture contest, with either a building or a street or some sort of a setting like that. Could be either modern, or an art-nouveau setting, preferably with a game-like polycount.

A thumbs up for a demon here and don't worry I won't cheat and use any of the demon models I've already made...come to think of it I already have an image in mind...plus it gives me time to practice UVMapping and Texturing (despite the only decent UVMapper I have crashes with Vista, but lithunwrap will do instead)
