Working Title: The Begining of the End

(Okay, cliche name)

So, a man named Hyl,
(an agent from I.R.O), is disbanded without reason. It turns out, the I.R.O. are creating robotic organisms that control their enviroment, where ever they may be.
When this organism was injected in to people, it would find the brain and shut it down. It would then control the dead body, and could be commanded to carry out the commander's bidding. (This is why there are "zombies")
Hyl's goal is to find and destroy the creation of any more organisms being made.

Luckliy, a few well placed bullets could put these creatures down. Also, once the host was dead, the organism only had until the body decayed and could not support itself anymore. Then, it too would die. Nothing in this world is immortal...

Play as Agent Hyl: a man who has to face the most horrifying reality that has become a city in America. He is trapped inside a small city in America that has been quarentined since "zombies" began appaering. Hyl must find the cause of this destruction before it finds him.

Levels:
1-Warehouse (don't all games begin like this?)
2-Airshaft (ducts! why is it always ducts?!)
3-Underground (a really creepy underground base)
4-Streets (crashed cars, military, and fire...fun)
5-Sewer (nothing like the odor of armpits, zombies, and sewage!)
6-Basement (the basement of an ancient hotel)
7-Hotel (an ancient hotel)
8-Streets (more destruction)
9-Subway (some dark, eerie, tunnels...full of zombies!)
10-facility (the begining of the organisms creation lab)
11-facility (deeper into the creation)
12-facility (the lab... )
13-Center of the Earth (find your way out through the bubbling lava tunnels)

Completion:
1- 90%
2- 90%
3- 90%
4- 90%
5- 75%
6- 90%
7- 0% (I have an idea though)
8- 60%
9- 60%
10-60%
11-60%
12-60%
13-95%

Comments:

This is my first FPSC game to be so close to completion.
My lightmapping isn't great, and I still need to add some popup messages to explain the story in the game.
So far I only have one picture in game, but more will come.

This picture is of 4-Streets

Intrested to see some of these levels.....namely the subways and center of the earth. You also seemed to have stuck with this game very long to complete (or nearly complete) all those levels.

It really hasn't been more than a month on these particular levels.
I have built the entire game once before, but it didn't work in the end. My hotel level has been giving me the most trouble. I built it and almost finished it, but it was way to choppy. I think I made it too big.

Krowsnest,
I can probably put a demo of the subway level on here, but I don't want to show the center of the earth until the game is complete.

Soon I will post a pic of the subway level. (It is still not finished though)

The hotel level is probly just to big like you said,

Here is a pic of my subway level.

It should be darker, but my computer can't handle full shader sffects yet. (I think I need to get a new video card and new 3D card)

Anyway, here it is.

Pain,

I like the triggering idea. I had never thought of that before.
Thanks!

This is (hopefully) a demo of 4-Streets. I'm not sure if it's going to work. Streets is a really short level, and I tried to make it as simple as possible to eliminate any speed difficulty.

Please let me know if anyone has problems.

Thanks.

The next post will have the download.

Even though the zombie thing is overused, you found a way to make it interesting. Also, with so many levels its good to know that you have most of them almost completed. The screens look great too, hopefully you finish this.

Thanks for the compliments!
The smoke is from Sprite Pack 1.

Thanks to Bond1's zombies, this game actually had a fighting chance of being cool.

Yeah, the subway is one of my favorite levels too. There are some dead zombies that have been smashed by a runaway subway car too.

I can't work any on it today, but I should get a lot of tomorrow.

This is looking really great. What really caught my attention is the story. Robotic organisms puppetering dead bodies with a secret agency controlling them. I love it! And the level design looks good as well. Can'twait for this.

My project is comming to a slow down for a short while I hope.

FPSC is acting up and giving me trouble all of a sudden. My gun has a texture problem or something. I need to remake Sewer also, and the Hotel level is on its third run.

Sewer is almost done!

I changed the water to slime, and I got rid of the lights almost completely.

I was wondering though, since this level is pretty dark, how can I make the slime darker? It still is pretty bright, and doesn't really match this dark, colorless level.

I think I am going to change the gun in all the levels from the P90SE to one of the machine guns in MP 9. The reason is because the P90SE doesn't work in some of my levels. I don't know why, but I am bummed because it is my favorite gun.

Who wants to see a picture of the Center of the Earth?

Since it is the first level to be completed, I think I should show everyone.

Here it is. (I'm not proud of it)

Something strange happens when I put sown the lava floor from MP 7.

The lava changes from, all the other surfaces I have in the level, and then back to lava, depending on how you look at it.

This level was going to be really cool too, and I don't know how to fix this problem.

I ended up laying the lava sprite on top of it and what you see in the picture is how that turned out. It isn't as stunning in color as I had wanted it to be.

I am disapointed about this level and when I finish the others, I might re-make it, so it will look as good as the subway for example.

Here is the end of 8-Streets. It is also the begining of the subways.

My graphics are really choppy and suddenly now strange bars of color flash in and out of the screen. I wonder if I need to get a new graphics card for my computer... But anyway I made sure the picture didn't include any weird color bars.

I hope that even if the game is slow on my computer, that it will be faster on everyone elses, since I haven't done much in the way of enhancment to mine.

The Train Cars?

I'm not entirely sure, but check the stuff that the Cosmic Prophet made. I'm pretty sure it was from his subway pack. He makes some great stuff. I was using them until I could make my own. (I wanted some that were dented and beaten up a little)

Just search for 'street signs' or something similar, and then click on the Cosmic Prophets thread. If you scroll down, i'm pretty sure there is a link to his website.

guess what? Hotel is almost complete!! I tested it, and now I only have to add lighting!

Screenshot will be included later.

My P90SE isn't working again, so I am changing the gun.

I want to give everyone a say so in this so, which one should I use?

Use trigger zones other wise it will become way way too laggy or Choppy as you called it to play and it just becomes unbearable. Havent you noticed the speed at which everything is going and how choppy all the animations are? thats because your spawning too many npcs at once, use Trigger zones and restrict how many polys can be seen on screen at once.

HOTEL!!!!! remake

This is gonna be awesome!

(At least I think so)

You have to travel through a couple of burning floors. Thankfully, the flames didnt reach farther than the second floor and the stairwell.

You need to search the accesible parts of the building for the key to the front door; some dude locked it when he thought zombies were gonna get him. Too bad he left the back door wide open.

By the way, the dude, he ran upstairs after the zombies got in.
They chased him up the stairs, but after a strange impact, the soda machine landed on him. (Picture will come later)

He put up quite a fight right before his demise, he even flushed a zombie down the toilet. (Picture will come later)

This is a pic of the stairwell and the chopped inhalf zombie who was playing on the stairs: he was running with a knife.

This basically is how fast your game will play, you should be aiming for no less that 20 for a playable game.
